so it's just this guy's opinion. that's nice but it would be better to see some type of actual reasoning or evidence. there was the thread on reddit a few days back about the dutch bank, was it amro?, whose site had a secret bitcoin page but they later said it was an abandoned experiment.

let's see what happens. it's not sexy but it would work for a lot of regular people.

I don't think it will ever happen. I personally wouldn't make use of it as I am already satisfied with how things are right now. But if this helps to get more people on board, then it's of course a welcome addition.
