Hello,

I need help getting my Bitcoin core to re open.   The loading screen comes and says 'loading block chain' for about 1 minute and then an error pops up saying that 'bitcoin-qt.exe has stopped working.   (a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.) Close Program.'  and then crashed time after time.

Last night i was loading block chain had about 10 days to go when my computer started to glitch up (youtube issue) so i shut down BT core first and then when I restarted it this is what i have now....    I have backed up the .dat file   I assume the block has been corrupted and i need to reload but how do I do that if the program just keeps on crashing?   Can some one help me out please?

Was something reset?   I  used to keep my block chain on a different drive as it to large for my SSD   =(

Any help appreciated!

It looks like you have a corrupt database. Start Bitcoin Core with the -reindex option.

Right click the shortcut for Bitcoin Core. Click "Properties". In the box labeled "target", click inside it and move the cursor all the way to the right. Type -reindex. Make sure there is a space between that and what was already in the box. Click "OK" and then double click the shortcut to start Bitcoin Core. If it works, do this again but instead remove what you added so that it doesn't do it every time you start.
