It's not like that they announce the winner by checking the last character of the hash from the said block. You only make profit if there's money on the other side if not you'll just get your money back and wasted your time.

I think if you lose your bet it will just stay in the instant gamble address because you're bet amount is matched by girlbtc. This solution from girlbtc is still the same but now we are betting against the owner. Gonna test this one out. Good luck
