PayPal have shitload of chargeback disputes with Bitcoin sales. And PayPal does not want to have superior payment system to succeed. Both are legitimate (for them only) reasons to ban anything Bitcoin related.

It would be great for BTC if either Paypal or Ebay decided to accept it as payment (natch) but the more I think about it, I feel they have the resources to create their own crypto-currency. I wouldnt doubt they are already looking at such a project. The problem with THEIR cryptocurrency would be... it wouldnt be decentralized. Corporate entities such as PP or ebay absolutely reject the idea of putting control of anything in their customers hands. The worst problem with a Ebay-coin or a Paypaldollar would be, they would do about a million times better a job of making their system userfriendly. I really hope it doesn't happen, but the community should consider this. A superior cryptocurrency would effectively shelf the entire BTC economy.

If you'd searched the forums you'd know that there have been issues with PayPal and eBay for a couple of years and that people who think they've found a loophole and decide to use those services anyway usually end up with their accounts locked.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Got a citation for that?

I offer Bitcoin sales on my store's site, but it's kind of a pain because my cart doesn't support it. I have it set up as a cash method, and I send out an email manually with an address for the customer to pay to.

I was hoping to use Coinbase or Bit-Pay to let people pay with BTC on eBay as well. I've not seen any eBay policy stating I can't do that, as long as I also offer PayPal.

I am not using E-bay or PayPal. I see them both as evil.

No surprise, exchanging e-currency with Paypal has always been against TOS and guarantees your account locked. As for eBay if I remember you can accept any form of payment as long as paypal is also included, but yeah I don't use them either as both are completely evil pieces of corporate trash.
