I would like to create a site where I can trade my BTC for various items. Escrow service will be available via Escrow.com, Escrowmybits.com and Bitrated.com and others. There doesn't seem to be much of a demand anymore for exchanges for fiat, will trading for resellable items have much support?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Sound good concept but when i checked escrow.com there standard fee seem $25 which will be quite higher for small priced item. Better to have inhouse escrow service like localbitcoin, paxful etc. But how this gonna be different than usual bitcoin shopping sites and how you gonna verify seller selling the real item as he claimed.

There are already a number of sites that you can use to buy items with bitcoins. You can go to the goods section of the marketplace board of this forum, epicnpc, sythe, downloadabit, and a couple others that I'm most likely missing. The fees that the escrow sites used are pretty expensive though, at $25.00 minimum for Escrow.com, although escrowmybits.com is pretty cheap and can be compared to the escrows that are in this forum. Do you know if any of these sites are trustworthy? Edit: escrow.com has a 21% rating on sitejabber: https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.escrow.com, and escrowmybits' owner is pretty trusted. Link for escrowmybit's owner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=54489.

Thanks for responding. These are some of the questions that I need to hear and address. Communication and pics are the key but more importantly, escrow services work both ways...both for the buyer and the seller. If things don't appear to be what it is, all proverbial bets are off.

Okay. Escrow.com may not be a good choice and more research is needed on my part. You made a good point about this forum's marketplace providing the same service, I guess the question I'm asking is this: will my site be any more different (or how can I make it different and competitive) than the marketplace besides it being a site and not a forum?

YH Escrow.com might not be a good idea, because the cost of achieving anything whatsoever must not be more than the benefit to be derived from it and in this scenerio its reverse in a case of small items of low value...

It sounds like I need to drill down to a particular niche to be viable.
