I'm new to mining (3 days since I got my rig) and I know very little about overclocking.
Do you happen to know if it's doable in Linux, and how? Thanks in advance.

I have no idea I'm running windows and use MSI afterburner which is very easy.

just add --gpu-engine 'number' or --gpu-memclock 'number' to your batch file.

i.e. if using the quoted user's settings, you would have

--gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500

Strangely it does nothing if I do that ... cards are still at the same 550khash

5.6-ish mh/s.  8 7970's.  All with Arctic Accelero coolers.

They all hash between 645 and 735 kh/s depending on the card.

All hash between 48 to 52 degrees C due to the fantastic coolers!  I really believe these things are worth every penny when it comes to scrypt mining since we are overclocking and sometimes even overvolting the memory so far.  My vrm's, core, the whole bit stay super cool.  Every single card I ever add to the rigs will be equipped with one asap.

Plus it makes the resale value a bit better then the rest and a bit more desirable then the rest considering most can acknowledge and appreciate what it means to keep your GPU's running at a much lower temperature.

I would be interested in knowing the brand and core/mem settings you are using.  Either via reply or PM.  Thanks if you are cool with sharing the info.

I have had problems with some 7970s not performing as well as other given the same configuration, but a different brand of 7970 card manufacturer.

Also - no one has posted of anything north of 12,000kH/s - is everyone out there with that kind of hashing muscle too nervous to post about it?  Or are they not in this sub-forum?  Are they running bot-nets?

Any theories on the miners with 10,000kH/s - 100,000kH/s and how they do it?  Would love to hear about someone with an industrial setup.

A friend has root administration privileges to a University lab that has like 48 GPUs - however they are all Nvidia CUDA cards.  I have told her still to point them at one of my wallets when they are not in other use but unfortunately she declines  Tongue

Could our mega hashers be using University/Company/Government hardware?  Just curious what the real big gun setups are like?

Daily PC

HD 5870 (895/1120): 410 kh/s
HD 5670 (880/850): 110kh/s

Strange thing is at higher mem clocks my hash rates go down???

Currently running 2 Asus HD7850's
They both get 390KH/s so thats 780KH/s combined
Clock speeds: 1100 core, 6000 mem. One card gets to 1135 core, the other goes to 1115 core but its summer.
They both run about 60 degrees at 55% fan.

4x7850 => ~1590Kh
Hello good sir, could you tell me your clocks + settings?
I pull around 385 per 7850, and your 400 would be awesome...

All these values are stock, no under or overclocking involved, couldn't be bothered trying to get the extra 5-20 kh/s

1 x 6990 = 880-900 kh/s using stock 830mh, card has swtich for 880mhz but havent tried it yet, too lazy to open the case up to flick it over....
1 x 6970 = 440 kh/s
1 x 6970 = 490 kh/s
1 x 5870 = 370 kh/s
1 x 6850 = 210 kh/s
1 x 5770 = 190 kh/s

total - 2600

Looking to add 2 or 3 7950'a this week from the profits of mining FTC and CNC the last week. Could of been 6 x 7950 but I sold cheap FTC/CNC before it hit the exchange.. doohh

4 x 7950 DD : 600-610khash each = 2400 khash/s
2 x 7850 : 350 khash/s each = 700 khash/s

Realistic khash/s over time = 3mhash/s

Adding 2x 7950s in 7 days, so will be just over 4 mhash/s.

1x5770@937/1250 - 217kh/s
1x6770@900/1250 - 207kh/s - it's passively cooled hence lower clock!
1x7870@980/1250 - 407kh/s
3xCore2CPU - 18kh/s

Total 849kh/s

may well invest in more but at limit of old mobo's and psu's so it would be a big initial cost Sad
