Ok, im setting up a small mining rig, but would like to mine eth with one card and xmr with the second card.

Is this possible? Or do mining apps require you to use all attached cards for the same coin?

Noob to mining, so be nice Wink

Yes is the answer.

I´ve mined with Claymore dual miner and Claymore cryptonote miner at the same time with no problem. I had two gpu´s in that particular machine.

You just have to disable the other card in the Batfile on the corresponding miner software and vice versa ...

You can surely mine two different coins on two seperate graphics cards, but why? pick the most profitable one and mine with both.

I have r9 290x which gives 30+MH/s on Eth and 700+H/s on Xmr.
    and hd7950  -------------14+MH/s on Eth and 400+H/s----Xmr.

I figured hd7950 was better suited for mining Monero.

Now that I think of it ...I remember that I got more than usual amount of invalid shares on moneropool. I´m not sure if this setup had something to do with it. They weren´t that many but still (maybe 14/day instead of 1/day?!?). At the same time my other rig mining monero gave about zero to 1 invalid shares a day and I often seem to get one Invalid share as the first share when starting the miner as it is relating to synching probably..?.
