I am new to bitcoin and crypto in general.
I have decided to try to look through as many as the resources out there that I can and I have start noticing some strange things. For example, bitcoinwatch.com has the current value of BTC/USD at $597 where yobit.net has the value at $621. Which is more accurate? Can one be more accurate than the other? Are both values accurate but, the two sites just have it at different values?
And is there a site better than both of these that I may have overlooked?

Each exchanges have a different price rate because of the trading volume on various exchanges is different. You can choose which one you like and trade there. I personally used coindesk and my local exchange as my reference. Also huobi exchange .

since no one site shows correct value rate of bitcoin because of there demand in every crypto. is different at different exchange . but still for bitcoin price you can see at blockchain.info , coinbase , btc-e . these sites usually shows avergly accurate price of btc .

I don't think there's an "accurate" price of it because the price is moving a lot. There would always be some discrepancies but it's not too much that it would make an exchange website better than another website. It's just a really small amount of money considering the fact that altcoins are traded in Satoshi units. Same goes for Bitcoin to USD trading.

You're wrong because every price in the every exchange site is different, if we are wanna for giving an explanation about that will taking a lot of time, but for the main things, various factor like volume, demand, supply and etc is any impact for the price.

why are you even checking yobit price for bitcoin? there is zero liquidity there and the orderbook size is pathetic on btc-usd market. besides since you are checking bitcoinwatch.com you can already see multiple different prices on there on different exchanges try one of those and see the difference on USD there you can clearly see that good markets (liquid markets) are the same price. then check another crappy market called bter.com you can see that bitcoin price is $300 there.

I think this one is the best - http://preev.com/ - Litecoins, Bitcoins, Peercoins and Dogecoins, updated in live via Web.

I usually check price on bitcoinaverage.com as well as in markets.blockchain.info to find correct price. Bitcoinaverage gives the average price over all bitcoin exchangers so that can be considered as correct price. As i mostly use blockchain wallet, if i have to pay in fiat value i have to go through average value set by blockchain.info and if we have to pay to any sites where they have used bitpay payment api to accept bitcoin payments than rate may be different because bitpay have their own market price set for bitcoin. To have overall average bitcoin price try https://bitcoinaverage.com or http://preev.com/

For the price of bitcoin I often use bitstamp because I can see the price of bitcoin at that exchange is exact the same as market and definitely the reason is that the exchange volume at that exchange is much higher while for selling my bitcoins I use yobit because I can sell at higher rate at yobit than market rate.

I usually just check blockchain.info and coinbase for the prices. Sometimes I also use this https://coinmarketcap.com/ to see the average price for bitcoin as well as other crypto-currencies. Personally, I don't really look for the 'accurate' price mainly because when I'm buying or selling I go to our local exchange and the price there for buying is always higher than the foreign exchanges while selling price is always lower. The difference is not much though so it's ok since it's safer than buying from foreign sources.

well if you check in different exchanger there will be a slightly different price, so there is a possibilities where all of the coin is in different price with other exchanger, so there is no more or most accurate price, you need to check every exchanger to get the best price for you

Every exchange has a different value then the other exchanges. Although, for a price check on my bitcoins, I normally use preev.com and not an exchange since you normally need to log in into an exchange.

.. Are both values accurate but, the two sites just have it at different values?
As posted above by the others here, exchanges sites may vary in terms of bitcoin price value. So for a trader, they are watching the price obviously on the exchange site where they are doing trades. So if you have trading funds on action then monitor the price in your specific exchange site. Or in other cases, you have to convert your bitcoin into cash, check the price on that exchanger. For instant result, you can just type "btc to usd" in the google search box. The result came from the first site of the result.

The site that I use most for showing current crypto value would be preev.com(which is not an exchange site). Every site has it's own value though due to it's volume, and the volatility of bitcoin.

... ALL the sites show pretty similar pricing, sure they vary a bit, but not much. Funny thing though, whenever I BUY Bitcoin (at a BTC ATM, for example) the price is always a little higher. ANd many of the times I have bought gold (w/ BTC), the price of the BTC is lower. I like ounce.me. It shows BTC (also LTC & Ether) along with gold, silver, platinum, palladium, crude oil and the US$!

I wouldn't check the bitcoin price on altcoin exchanges because sometimes they do not represent the real value of bitcoin. Usually I check the bitcoin price on coindesk.com/price and from the graph options I can choose many resources (like Bitfinex, Coinbase, Bitstamp etc) and see all of them at the same time in the same graph.

well, when it comes about just checking the current and live bitcoin price I usually use the Google search. and Peerv sometime. but google search is more better and easy to do. you don't need to redirect to any other site. just write Bitcoin price and google show you the current price of bitcoin (google show it from some external site though, I think it is peerv rates)
