original title: Litecoin failing to process TX 0e79d19bcb9f8ee1492b54931b1040d12bdaf9f79a8e0220c

A payout from our casino has not verified for over 24 hours now.

Recently we have been seeing more and more issues with litecoin failing to broadcast and confirm bets and payouts.
From clients to us (bets) and from us to clients (payouts).

The above txid has been broadcasting successfully as the player sees it as an unconfirmed payment in his wallet after 24 hours.
All other txids do eventually get confirmed but Im wondering what is with this massive slow down ?

I will PM Coblee as well in hopes he has some answers.

Could this be a direct result of the lack of LTC development I keep hearing about?

Litecoin doesn't need to be developed. Its code is 99.999% of Bitcoin code.

Litecoin doesn't need to be developed. Its code is 99.999% of Bitcoin code.
Except of course, without all the fixes and new features / improvements.

99.9% of former Bitcoin code, sure, but not current bitcoin code.

Well... sticking to legacy code could be a wise decision...

Can someone check their mempool? Is it actaully pending in other clients pools? e.g. was it actaully broadcast?

It might be worth restarting client and running rescan.

My litecoin-qt client says "Warning this version is obsolete, upgrade required".

I have latest version from git, also tried 0.6.3, no success. Should I be worried?

Not really. Sounds like a bug that existed in bitcoin, and I think still does.

Client thinks tx sent to network but hasn't been. Money still gd in walletan fixed after reopenning client and a -rescan.

Today I had the same warning on my pool. Just "-rescan" and everything will be fine.

Today I had the same warning on my pool. Just "-rescan" and everything will be fine.

The warning is because some pools were using bitcoin pool software that generated blocks with v2 instead of standard Litecoin v1 blocks. It's just a version number increase and is harmless. Your client/pool is still on v1 and when it saw so many v2 blocks being created, it thinks that your software is outdated. For now, please just ignore the warning. All this will be fixed when I've updated the client to 0.8.1

SRoulette, it sometimes doesn't actually send out your transaction to the network. When that happens, you have to do a rescan. I'm not sure if this bug has been fixed in Bitcoin yet.

There was never a time to buy unless you wanted to participate in the pump-n-dump.
Better to put your coins in other alternatives that bring something new to the table imho.

Wow so many noobs that dont know what they are talking about.

Free Market rules, no one cares what you think by yourself.

Also if it was a pump and dump the the price would have gone back to $0.005 like it was at 1 year ago. I know because I was around since the launch of litecoin and when the prices were that low.

15,000% increase in 12 months is pump and dump? lol

You should buy some NOVASCAMs...they are "different" than bitcoin.  Grin Grin Grin

Yes, Litecoin is a scam.  It says right on the Bitcoin wiki.

While Bitcoin premined 1 genesis block.  Litecoin premined two!  Shocked

That's 100% more pump and dump!!!

Long before you replied the tx was mined into a block.  There is no problem here.

Thanks Coblee Cheesy

Normally they are rebroadcast-ed after 30min to an hour this is the first exception.
I shall restart our litecoin daemon with -rescan shortly and report back.

Haha I should have read further down before replying.

Btw this is a lovely block explorer you linked to: http://litecoinscout.com/tx/0e79d19bcb9f8ee1492b54931b1040d12bdaf9f79a8e0220cee68f09f75717b6
I may swap over to this one as our default for litecoin txid links in the log.
