What is Beyond the Void ?Beyond the Void is an upcoming real-time strategy video game. Two players compete against each other on a space battlefield to rule the galaxy. The game is designed to be competitive and playable in E-sport tournaments.
The “Free-to-play” modelWe believe players should pay because they like the game and they have fun playing it. We don’t want people to have to pay in order to enjoy the game.
"Don't make people pay for entertainment. Entertain them so that they will pay." ~Jamie Cheng, Founder of Klei Entertainment
The free-to-play model is widely used in video games because it is easily profitable.
Our business model is based on a strategy similar to "League of Legends", which is the most played game in the world, the most streamed and one of the most profitable.
Why would players spend money on a free game ?- To access the contents faster
- To get vanity content
- To play with more strategic possibilities
What do we sell in the game’s shop ?Skins: playing the same ship in all games becomes more fun if you can choose an alternative skin. It is not limited to the mothership artwork: sounds and alternative effects will be available as well. If the player feels strong with a ship, he can show it to the community by getting cool new looks for it.
Holotags: it allows you to print your mark in game on the battlefield
Avatars: artworks you can display on your profile picture
Titles: add a title such as “Doctor” at the beginning or “Nevronom killer” at the end of your nickname (and many more). Special titles will be reserved for backers only (the backer ranks will be announced on October 3rd).
Boosters: they make you earn more game points at the end of games
Event cards: they add events in the game that players have to deal with while playing. Each game becomes different and it adds strategic possibilities. These cards will be available to use for free, a few at a time and for a limited period only. Players can test them, but if they want to use them on a regular basis they have to purchase them.
A little bit about the gameplay:Command your Mothership through an epic space war as you conquer planets and fight against your opponent’s fleet ! Choose your skills and event cards wisely beforehand to suit your own gameplay and strategies. Build harvesters and manage your resources in real time to achieve one goal: defeat the enemy.
What’s the link to blockchain technology and altcoins ?We created a token called the
Nexium (Nxc) within the Ethereum Blockchain.
Some information about the Nexium:
- We created 100 000 000 using a smart contract (the amount is fixed)
- They can’t be mined
- 15% are set apart for the founders
- 15% are spent on the promotion of the project
- 70% are on the market for backers
- All the unsold Nexium will be burnt (meaning destroyed)
- They can be spent in the game’s shop or traded
The “true ownership” conceptTraditionally, items (characters, spaceships, titles, ...) that a game company sells is vendor locked. They are tied to their games, they are prisoners of their servers. You can’t resell them or give them to a friend.
Furthermore each company has its own way, its own format, its own servers to store these items.
It is the very opposite of the
“true ownership” concept we promote. This concept was first popularized by the card game
Spell of Genesis (EverdreamSoft).
The gamer is the real owner of his assets. He can do whatever he wants with them. He can sell, give, trade, or even destroy them.
These items are not prisoners of our server, but are on the blockchain, using a standard format. We have chosen the Ethereum which is very powerful when it comes to transaction speed, community and smart contracts. We respect the ERC20 standard, so these items can easily be traded on external exchange platforms.
Finally we can share some of them among different games, involving different companies.
The first example is with our partner everdreamsoft. We made a special asset : “Crystalibur”, in reference to “Spell of Genesis” Bitcrystal token during our presale.
With Beyond the Void, we propose an innovative gameplay and a brand new economic system for our players.Crowdfunding launch calendarOctober 3rd 2016: We will announce the backers’ ranks.
