Clarification:
All prices will be denominated in bananas.
When the smartphone receives a certain amount of bitcoin, the screen will only display a corresponding number of bananas.
The monkeys never sees anything related to bitcoin, they only see a certain amount of bananas on the screen of the smartphone.
When the monkey pays for a product the bananas will automatically disappear from the screen.

One snack cost three bananas
