You can't build a mining rig from scratch with just $100 (unless you already have most of the parts). A mining rig is practically a small computer without monitor and keyboard and other unneeded things.

100$ lol is this a joke?  you  mean 1000 ?
you realize that 1 gpu is more than 100?

must be a very old cpu? or very bad motherboard
because they normally all auto shutdown if temp to high

but to stay cheap go for amd + asrock
one 5 or 6 pci-e slot AM2/3+ asrock motherboard cheapest you can find 50-60$
cpu athlon2 160  was the cheapes 1 in my store  25-30$
1x 4G ram
old hard drive
power riser

if power goes above 800w  then chose 2 power supply (cheaper than 1big)
and use quality power supply at lease 80+

amd gpu of your choice, r9 380 if good price  or rx470

I think he means CPU, not GPU's.
I'm not in to CPU mining as a $300 core i7 4790k can't get much more then $15 or so a month on Monero mining, so i wouldn't really know.

but if he mean cpu than it s not a mining ring

and cpu mining on amd is a bad choice even if cpu price is lot cheaper than intel

and if he just wanna replace his cpu only than we need to know what motherboard he has

Forget focusing on CPU mining. Buy a cheap board for mining (eg. AsRock Pro BTC), a cheap dualcore CPU and fill the board with graphics cards over time using powered USB risers.

Not your keys, not your coins!

and if does not have all the cash he can start with 650w 80+ power supply
a 5-6 slot motherboard
and 1 gpu than 2

so he can ad more gpu after and add a 2nd power supply for the other's gpu

no need a dual core there are cheap single core 20w only

For $100 you need to look into used PCs. You can probably pick up functioning PC for under $100, just make sure it has a PCIe 16x slot. The GPU you may also find for used, but if you have a few more $ you can get a new XFX - AMD Radeon R7 370 2GB on clearance from Best Buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/xfx-amd-radeon-r7-370-2gb-gddr5-pci-express-3-0-graphics-card-black-gray/8278108.p?skuId=8278108

So if you can find a garage sale PC with a 16x PCIe slot for $50 and this card, you can be mining for about $160.

The R7 370, is only good for (if good for something) Ethereum, and with 2Go, you won't go far away. Better take a 1060 with 3Go. I know that's not the purpose of the thread but I'd not like begginers to get fooled.

Considering his budget, I suggested a feasible (not ideal) solution, and already it would put him $60 over. Plus he did call out AMD. Unfortunately there are not a lot of good options for such a low budget even with used and clearance priced parts.

No. Does not exist.  but I could show you something in the 300 dollar range.

maybe 270.

this  is 165 but the card is too weak

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA59622H0865

this is 150 after rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121978&ignorebbr=1&cm_re=r9_380-_-14-121-978-_-Product

so 315 and you have a  card you pulled to sell

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=hd+5450&N=-1&isNodeId=1

I have no idea if the pc and card I picked will work but the idea of getting gear like that is the way to go.
