If you look at 30 days, 6 months, etc you'll see those flat lines. Watch for the next nice red one in a few days, maybe down to 80+/-... or it could just curve up from here...

Easter coupled with the banking holidays in North America + the weekend... I ain't too surprised but again I had a prediction that the next flat line would be at the 100$ or so mark. I hope it breaks on Tuesday I personally think a nice flat line is good to breathe a bit. These days have been very exciting!

These days have been very exciting! for sure, i think it will straingthen the bottom and help it not dip to low, then again if it does ill just buy. I was thinking of selling around the new high 99ish and let is slide to mid eightys like you said, then buy and hold till mid 120s where we will see another dip to 100ish. lets see what happens:)

If the price flattens out on weekends because all the people that would cause the price to fluctuate do so while they are at 'work', I would like to know what kind of 'work' these people are doing with bitcoins. They are trying to make a profit, and probably dealing with substantial amounts of cash, and I assume that it will come at the expense of the average joe such as myself.

It's a purposeful market stabilization by those with a vested interest in bitcoin to accomplish two goals: - Take advantage of the bitcoin boom by converting old bitcoin into fiat currency. Old miners who have thousands of coin need to profit too.
- Stabilize the market to reduce the perception of long-term volatility and increase confidence in the viability of bitcoin. Without this stabilization there is a much stronger likelihood of a crash at 100. This stabilization gives everyone a chance to acclimate to the concept of bitcoin being valued at 100. The same event took place around 30 and 70 for a few weeks.

Pretty much what everyone else already mentioned.... extended holiday break+weekend+banks closed . With how crazy the last few weeks have been it's probably good to have a much needed break for people out there who are constantly trading.
I you look back at some of the historical charts it's not too uncommon for things to slow down during the holidays.
I think someone else was pretty spot on about alot of volume going on while people are "at work". It certainly seems there might be quite a few speculators out there who work in the finincal/investment industry and have there hands in btc a little bit.

I agree with all of the above mentioned, and the valid point that if its flat and a holliday then are most whales the 9-5 financial types,
seams if the average person had a little extra time on the weekend to buy a few coins than it would not be flat, this almost proves that the movers are the 9-5 types. but easter is not recognized by the whole world, a Christian (originally pagan) holiday
