how easy would it be to buy for <100 on mtgox, send btc to these sites, and sell for 100+? seems like there is money to be made if mtgox is behind the rest of them

its kinda hard, because just because the ask at Virwox is ~$101 doesnt mean the fish are biting.

Current ask on BitNZ is NZ$138 (US$114.50). High over the last few days touched NZ$140 (US$116). There's just no easy way to get small amounts of fiat onto Mt Gox in a timely manner from NZ unfortunately  Sad

It's not only the ask at VirWox that is ~$101, it's not even $101,
because the 256 SLL you mentioned is also just a bid, if you actually want to buy now, you don't get SLL at 256 (plus you have to pay enormous fees).
Not to mention the low BTC-volume.

Questionable if it's worth all the hazzle.

Yup, fees are 3.9% + 50SLL (2.9% + 50SLL for market orders). Really expensive

its been fluctuating, but yea, it cost me 12 BTC to purchase 2000 BTC on MTGOX, so as with any exchange, you're going to be paying their fees.

0.65% on MtGox is like nothing, compared to ~3% on VirWox (which you have to pay twice, if you want $ for your BTC).

...And circling the fiat back around to Gox keeps your money out of BTC for several days which could add up to a much higher gain.  You can't just put more $ in play because of the counterparty risk of having USD on these unregulated exchanges -- while impossible to quantify, is clearly much higher then holding the amount in a bank insured by a CB (although that risk assessment # is clearly changing ATM).

Virwox is a rip off. They wont let you trade in anything but units of 1 or greater. They fucked me once and I swore I would never use them again.

That seems to have changed recently. They now allow 2 decimal places. The fees are still a killer though

Interesting, last time I tried to buy BTC was when it was at $20 and I had $19 left after buying the first coin and couldn't buy .9 worth of BTC with remaining cahs. I had to add more money the next day in the exact amount to get an even 1 BTC after trades and fees. Was Bullshit.

who only pays .65 at MtGox?, I see a special price of 3.45% (normally 3.95%) if you wait 3 weeks for verification - paying 8% in the meantime.

Well, you're actually right, it's not 0.65%, it's only 0.6% (or less if your trading volume is high).
Not sure where you get those 3.45%/3.95%/8% numbers from.

Virwox is one of the few places you can buy Bitcoin (indirectly) with a credit card. I expect these exchanges going over 100 means a rally is coming.

Any significantly advanced cryptocurrency is indistinguishable from Ponzi Tulips.

New AUD fee trial run saves you money on each deposit

TOKYO - JAPAN - March 15, 2013   Dear Australian Mt.Gox users,   We are happy to announce that for the next two months, we will be offering cheaper fees on each domestic deposit.  Starting today, for a limited period of two months, our new deposit fee will be of 3.45% instead of 3.95%. If successful, this trial run will then become permanent.

---

While waiting for verification for that 3.45% I've had to purchase from a 3rd party at 7.9% (bitinnovate.com).

You're complaining about deposit fees, while I talk about trading fees.
Maybe you should change your payment method, International Wire Transfers come for free.
