Because they are too slow.

slower than cpu's? i have a machine with AMD PRO A8-8650B which has 10 compute cores (4CPU+6GPU)

http://products.amd.com/en-us/search/APU/AMD-PRO-A-Series-Processors/AMD-PRO-A-Series-A8-APU-for-Desktops/6th-Gen-AMD-PRO-A8-8650B-APU/158

i mean, for what it worth, it will still give some kick over the 4 cpu's?!

Probably better than the CPU, but still very slow and uses the system's RAM. you won't get very much horsepower out of an APU.
