Go to http://www.wavesplatform.com/ and download the WavesLiteApp from the chrome store's link. It's a chrome extensions like an online wallet.

Because Bittrex does not support Waves assets yet, simple as that 

And the Lite Client installation + account creation only takes you a minute or two!
