I think that if you get a 50 mbps plan you will just get 80% of the plan you payed for so if I'm not wrong with my calculation you will just get 40ish mbps after the installation

If I'm only getting 80% of something I paid for, I'm cancelling it.

Yung isang kapatid ko naka 50 mbps. Speedtest shows 50 mbps. Yung isang kilala ko, naka 50 mbps din. Pag speedtest, ganun din.

Ako naka 25 mbps. Pag speedtest umaabot ng 26 mbps. 6 ms ping. hehe.

I don't have any problems with my connection. I'm thinking of downgrading
my plan pa nga to 3mbps 1299/month since sa tingin ko kaya naman. Kahit sabay gumagamit
laptop at desktop, nakamovie yung isa, yung isa youtube/fb/browse/etc plus yung mga phones
pa nagddl animes at lagi connected. Plus you get a landline pa.

Pero kung broadband ang gamit, wala talaga. Smart broadband dati, tsk. Nakaka-kunsumi.

We need a new ISP here in the Philippines other than PLDT. What do you think guys?

Hmmm. Medyo mahal yan ah, pero siguro kasi the landline is included in the price.

P1299 is for 10 mbps.
Kung meron ka PLDT Fibr, meron P1899 for 50 mbps (50 GB usage/bandwidth) or P2899 for unlimited.
Kung Globe Broadband, meron P1299 for 10 mbps (100 GB) and P1599 for 20 mbps (150 GB). I would probably go for the P2499 for 100 mbps (1 TB) personally, if I were to try Globe.

I had their DSL service before for 5 mbps, wala naman masyadong problema, medyo spoiled lang ako sa faster speeds ngayon.

So dapat 10 mbps minimum target mo. Cellphone is 4g speeds only ... pang email email only. Unless meron free wifi.

Boss Dabs,

Pano ba yung technical details neto at ano ibig sabihin nung bridge/route? ano difference nila?

We need a new ISP here in the Philippines other than PLDT. What do you think guys?

Well of course.

There's already been discussions about that, hopefully a new player will enter the market soon

Well, if you're talking about the Telstra project here in the Philippines it is already been rejected by the ISP here in the Philippines. They didn't agree to have Telstra here in our country because they know that if they did it will be their great rival when it comes to internet connection. They know it for themselves that Telstra has more faster internet connection than what they have, that's why they've rejected it. They just want to own the whole country for their slow internet connection, their UNLI promos is just a lie. If you're gonna register to the one of their UNLI promos and you've been using a lot of data's which is natural since you have unlimited data but the thing is they will going to limit it. It ridiculous right?, I think it's better if they will just gonna change those UNLISURF promos that they have. It's a LIE.

Nope, not referring to Telstra as I already know their operations are not going to pursue.

What I'm saying is since this issue has got the ball rolling, I'm hoping a new and better ISP can truly and finally serve in our country.

Yes, they limit it to what they call fair use - when you've reached significant data usage already, they will somewhat 'limit your connection' to give way for others to use the data.

Being too saturated is one factor here.

Pano ba yung technical details neto at ano ibig sabihin nung bridge/route? ano difference nila?

Ang wireless is the Ultera. Wag na wag mo kunin yon unless you have no choice. They will put a canopy type antenna on your roof, like Smart Bro (same company naman sila.)

Route is when your DSL modem is also the router, assigns DHCP addresses, acts as a basic firewall, etc. Good enough for most people.

Bridge is a mode where the modem is just the modem. You connect a wire or ethernet cable directly to your PC (which you need to configure) or to another router. A little bit more advanced, but usually better if you know how to set it up. You can use a third party router / wifi access point such as Netgear or Asus. Or in my case Ubiquity (Edge Router and UAP-AC-Lite).

Actually, yung sa aken na modem is just a DSL modem that works with my service. I upgraded the firmware and turn off the built-in wifi, then I connected it to a switch. From the switch I connected an access point and put it on the wall near the ceiling. I was going to put the modem in bridge mode, pero hindi ko naman kailangan so I left it as is.

The built in ones from both globe and pldt, they're cheap and they suck. I would not use any built in wifi from those.

PLDT rin ba gamit mo? Kc naginquire aq sa knila last year I think, kung pwedeng dry loop(DSL w/o landline) pero sabi nila di raw pwede. Anong service provider gamit mo?
Gusto q rin ipa-cut landline sana and keep the DSL.

Yung plan 1299 nila comes with a landline pero 3mbps lng yun.

Kaya I'm trying to look for other options sana.

Pero dahil wala tayo magagawa ngayon ang pinaka mabilis na internet connection na pwede naten iavail is PLDT , The more MBPS you avail the higher the price nga lang.

Mabagal pa ba yan for you? Considering the price. The usual price dati kasi was P999 for 1, 3, and 5 mbps. That was about 5 to 10 to 15 years ago. At least magkalaban ang PLDT at Globe. Yung mga cable companies din like Sky and Destiny, or depende sa location mo.

Pagnaabot na yung limit back to 256 kbps nalang Sad
