2 things:
 Bitcoin is a pretty amazing new age value store (digital gold)
& The Bitcoin protocol / Blockchain - the distributed ledger is valuable - I dunno how to put my thoughts on this into words... but I basically think, "What if email was monetized"
I see bitcoins being to money what email was to snailmail and what "the internet" has done for humanity. (ok, not as big as "the internet" ... but in that same kind of thought.)
The tech is going to enable so much awesome shit to be built on top of it. Bitcoin is a new base layer for digital goodies if you will.
