You need to be a full member to set an avatar. You'll get to set your avatar once you are, just over here. Have a look at the stickies next time. Avatars
Full Member and up only.
It must be no more than 120px wide, 80px tall, and 100 KiB in size. It must be a PNG, GIF, or JPEG image. It must be safe for work.

No. You can only get donator/VIP status that way and that's for 10 BTC/50 BTC. You can't buy ranks. |

No. You can only get donator/VIP status that way and that's for 10 BTC/50 BTC. You can't buy ranks. You also get access to a special hidden forum section... not sure what's there. Maybe a quick link to legendary status  |

The reason i asked this question is i saw a newbie member wearing avatar in his/her profile and other members noticed it too but can't locate the thread where i saw the post to share the link here.

A few years ago everyone could have avatars. Then there was some security bug found and some spamming happened so Theymos restricted avatars to Full Member and above. However any Newbie, Jr. Member, or Member who had an avatar at the time of that change could still have their avatar. They just couldn't change it otherwise they would also have to wait until they were Full Members. |
