After extensive check I cannot explain a loss of ~50,000 bitcoal. Was blockchain modified? My Wallet file was corrupted. I checked from various backups, and then resynced from keys from 0. I am mining again and no problems for a week now. Latest update of forknoted and simplewallet. as above Ubuntu Server 14.04 Wallet is not on miner machine. THX Don
There was a fork quite a while ago, because the new version implemented some additional transaction checks. Please all update to the newest Forknote version if you still haven't. It fixes a potential double spending issue: https://github.com/forknote/forknote/releases/tag/2.0.1.1

Can the bitcoal blockchain be scanned for prior double-spending?
Can we monitor what percentage of peers are using 2.0.1.1+?
Might it be time to purposely initiate a hard fork? (Which would also be a good time to discuss the possibility of changing max coins or plotting another end game; but the choices would have to be fast.)
It may or may not take some or all of the above for exchanges to open wallets again.

All pools are using 2.0.1.1. I haven't scanned the blockchain for double spendings before the update, but scanning is easy. You just need to remove all checkpoints and sync from 0

I'm on my fourth sync from scratch, and still haven't gotten a full sync. This one's stuck at 147126, the highest yet, and will budge no more.
Built from latest forknote sources. No wallet involved; I'll add that after (if) the chain syncs.
Any suggestions?

The daemon has some ram issues on sync which makes it stuck. Just restart the daemon and it will be fine

Thanks to slb for keeping the CryptoNote coins going.
Hopefully trading will be restored on Cryptopia soon.

The daemon has some ram issues on sync which makes it stuck. Just restart the daemon and it will be fine Didn't work in my case, but after trying it daily or so, it "mysteriously" picked up with sync continuation only today. Special case here, probably; double whammy with ISP glitches and my own connection problems. I'll build 2.0.4 and run that next time I restart. @slb: Add my thanks to others'. Please consider posting a personal or project donation address that uses other than Bitcoin. Btc transfers have gotten too expensive for frequent use or small sums, and somewhat irregular. Since Cryptopia wallets will be open again, I figure that in the case of Bitcoal, we could send pretty much any other currency you find handy.

Cryptopia insists on having a payment ID to do so. Do you care to post one, slb?Cryptopia does not require a payment ID for Cryptonote/Forknote withdrawals, but space for one is provided if the reciever wants it. My problem was a mistyped, thus invalid, address. Withdrew bitcoal to my own wallet without payment ID successfully. Both times an invalid address was used for the DSH, the funds were returned after a wait approaching a day, which I think is appropriate.Retried mypool.name today. Still a no-go. I like Democats just fine, but agree with slb about decentralization. Are there other publicly-available pools running?

Hello ,
Seed... my wallet no sync/
First, be sure you are using at least version 2.0.4 from the Forknote repo. https://github.com/forknote/forknote2.0.6 is probably a better idea, but I haven't made the switch myself yet so I can't say. After posting this, slb replied with the below, and has a great deal of knowledge about Forknote, while I have practically none. So I've edited. In your bitcoal data directory, delete the file p2pstate.bin. The file will be replaced with a fresh copy when you restart forknote. If you've started sync at all, your config file is probably ok as it is. If you want a fresh one, get it from https://github.com/forknote/configsThe two seed nodes there should get you on your way, maybe after deleting p2pstate.bin again. If you still think you have need of further seed nodes, you can try adding these to your bitcoal.conf seed-node=136.243.69.10:7700 seed-node=192.121.166.182:7700 Leave the two already there in place.

I got some problems with v2.0.6. Stick with 2.0.4 better

2017-Jun-28 19:00:24.439358 ERROR Failed to connect to any of seed peers, continuing without seeds
I've followed all the recommendations, still no luck, where I can find a relevant list of nodes? is the blockchain still alive?
Well, I was able to fix the problem, by removing mandatory nodes from Bitcoald.bat!
Do you have any future plans for this coin, is it going to be used in real projects?
