How do I change the way I view PM's?

Like to now view them all threaded and view them as a one to one conversation. I really don't like this format, is it the only way to view it?

It's not possible to do (at least , not as far as I know) but I like the idea personally , you could check the "New forum software" section and suggest it there If no one already did yet.
It's better to send PMs while quoting btw , that way you could go to your Outbox and see everything you sent while seeing what you received as well.

Oh my god, thank you so much. That's what I needed because it's annoying not to know what someone sent prior to viewing the message.

Me too have the same problem, am missing many replies and for get what was the conversation before with the member, etc..

Actually an alternate way is available but not so efficient. Create label for each users message and when ever you receive a Personal message select and drop to that label, but you cant do that with the outbox messages, But you can view all incoming messages from a members in ascending order.

But this doesn't solve the issue for me completely, but its helpful for me.

PMs are not for frequent continuous conversations.
There are lot of anonymous messaging systems are available, we need to redirect there after few PMs.

it does make pm correspondence so much more convenient,having to switch from inbox to outbox to check the answers is annoying at times

No you can't change the way that it look. I personally like the way it looks. It provides you with a list of messages and you select the one you want to read. What is so bad about that?
