When you go into a store and want to buy goods. You can either wave your apple watch og iphone at a terminal at the register. It will take you around - 3 seconds.

Or you can pull out your smartphone. Log into your wallet. Scan someones 2D bitcoin code. Send them some bitcoins, wait for the transaction to be verified, and then take your goods and go.. total time 10mins +

Can someone tell me how bitcoins will ever stand a chance?

Oh well, none of these two methods have yet been implemented in my country shops/stores  Grin Grin

Never heard of Apple Pay (moreover I dont like Apple products - too costly) but I have heard of bitcoin and hence I am willing to use that method.
However payment gateways available in my country can transact within 2 minutes with all said procedures as long as the internet is fast enough.

Bitcoin can also transact faster with high mining fees. However this is not worth it since you are wasting money.
So technically bitcoin does not stand any chance. However people still use it and the reason is that people trust it more than others - though in my country its not very popular.

Do you want a perfect combination? Link your bitcoin debit card with you apple pay account and you can easily spend the bitcoins in 2 seconds if you want, of course maybe there will be a very small fee but i think it worth.

The big issue around those debit card is the fee that i believe is high, besides that you will need to have some coins to be able to go shopping with such card, i had heard some stories about people using a debit card anywhere, using their bitcoins balance to pay merchants, this is the future for sure.

Basically using these bitcoin debit cards in POS usually doesn't have any limit and any fee, but what we can't expect is the exchange rate btc to usd which here the company can get most of their profit.

Okay, but just waiting for the lightning network is be able for we are made the zero transaction. but may your true? but using bitcoin debit card is already easy and I think it's really fast. but discussing bitcoin isn't only the speed about the transaction.

However Apple pay or PayPal. Fees and taxes would be there on every purchase via that. Using bitcoin wallet and buying the physical products would be best option if Incase it comes in future. It would be very fast and easy to make the payment.

Haven't heard about apple pay before or there is no store over here which accept payment via apple pay here atleast i can use my bitcoin debit card to cashout or pay for my goods in my nearby store. So in this case bitcoin wins over apple pay, if you don't like to wait while paying with bitcoin pay with bitcoin debit card in POS without waiting for any coinfirmation.

It is not worth it, it is temporary solution and frankly bitcoin was not invented to be supplementary pseudo-currency usable only with current banking tech.

We should be aiming for direct adoption, and it will be possible in the future with SegWit, Lightning Network and possible other protocol upgrades transactions will be confirmed faster.

Easy.

1. Using the lightning network, transactions will confirm instantly.
2. Generating the transaction on the phone and sending the hash to the terminal which is confirmed

This will take less than 3 seconds.

Then the terminal broadcasts the TX.

A bitcoin debit card? Is there even such a ting? It goes totally against the decentralization principle of bitcoin. The idea should be investigated though, but i dont see it happening.

Imagine a terminal that communicates with NFC, that could talk to a bitcoin app on your phone?

Apple pay and Android pay is available in my country at least, it is true that bitcoin payments take a bit of time but there are a couple of apps / coins that go around this.

Plutus is one I think and there are a couple of others, they allow you to use contactless paypoints and they will exchange the bitcoin to fiat behind the scenes so as far as the merchant is concerned you are paying using the local currency.

I have not tried any of these, I just came across them in the forum.

I do not know about it, but I have confidence that the technology will in the future bitcoin far more profitable than the technology that has emerged now as Apple Watch. because it is the advantage that we can get in the bitcoin is much larger than the real currency or other digital

Apple is good company, but their phones and applications are good for some countries, for many other countries you can`t use them or don`t
have where to use them. Simple apple is concentrated on some parts of this world, and to be honest apple is to expensive for my pocket.
Time of confirming transaction is a little problem for everyone, but that will be fixed one day I think. On global plan I think bitcoin have much
higher chances for success then apple, that is my opinion. For example apple was always for people who can afford really expensive gadgets, in
this world there is more poor then rich people.

Apple Pay is still just fiat money though isn't it so all the problems of the fiat system are still prevelent there.

Bitcoin & its infrastructure will massively improve as time goes on, confirmations will become quicker.

No one says bitcoin is the only solution or better method of payment.Bitcoin has its own advantages and also flaws.Similarly other payment methods also have pros and cons.I am not for bitcoin monopoly. There must always be more than one method of payment available
