The best way to fight tax evasion is to reduce government spending and to lower taxes. The officialdom is growing like a cancer in most countries, sucking up all productive resources to grow. The nanny state with its never ending love for laws and regulation is eliminating creativity and economic development, yet demanding more and more taxes to maintain its army of control freaks. Of course, officials will have no insight into their own wrongdoings, because it would mean to do away with their own jobs and power. Instead they will try to squeeze out all what's left from the remaining productive people via financial surveillance and capital controls.
Implanting surveillance devices into banknotes and trying to put an end to physical cash by replacing it with a centrally controllable electronic currency are the logical next step in this process. The cancerous growth of the officialdom will not end before all resources have been depleted and society collapses...
