I recently set up a mining rig with 4 1070 GPU's (soon to be 5) and I want to make sure I have everything set up correctly to get the best hash rate. The operating system is Windows 7 and I have 3x Gigabyte 1070 G1 GPU's and 2 MSI Aero OC GPU's. I'm mining Monero with ccMiner and getting between 500-520 h/s per card overclocked and 475-490 without overclocking.

I'm not sure if I'm using the best version of ccMiner for my GPU's so if someone could tell me which version I should be using that would help a lot. I'm also not sure if I need to make any adjustments to ccminer to improve performance.

I also wanted to known how I should clock the memory. It seems when I drop it down as low as it can go I get better performance then if I try to overclock the memory. Does memory speed even play a role when mining monero or any cryptocurrency?

It would be great to get some tips and talk to others using 1070 for mining. Any feedback/tips would be appreciated.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I won't be able to answer all your questions, since even if I have a 1070 myself, I never used it to mine Monero (that idea wouldn't even cross my mind). However, I can tell you that the memory plays a role in some kind of altcoins, and not the least, the Hashimoto ones (Ethereum and its forks). The best version of ccMiner is for me the latest, 1.8.3 for now. To increase performances, you can play with difficulty and intensity, but since you have powerful cards and the ability to overclock them, it has no utility I think.

I'm not sure if it works under Win 7, but for Monero mining try this:
https://github.com/KlausT/ccminer-cryptonight/releases
For the GTX1070 the 64bit version is a bit faster than the 32bit version.

I am using the ccminer-cryptonight but theres so many versions i'm downloading the one you linked to so I can use the right one.

I'm not sure I understand CUDA, I download it and It says I don't have the right hardware to use it. Is it just a different driver for the GPU's?

Redrose: Are you saying its a bad idea to mine Monero? What would you mine?

Roll Eyes you can mine monero with 7850 at 400h/s and is like 10times cheaper card and uses about the same power..

I'm also working on a RX 470 build so that I can mine the best coin for both card types.

I'm now having a problem getting my computer to recognize the 5th 1070 GPU. I'm on Windows 7 with a MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard. Any tips to get the 5th card to work?

They say that some Windows 7 can only recognize 4 or 5 cards before you need the registry hack. I don't know if this is your issue though.

So I switched to mining LBRY. I'm getting about 1045/Hs with 4x 1070 cards. Is this a good hash rate? Any suggestions for a pool?

you mean 1045MH? one card should reach 300MH now, so you can do more, unless you want to limit them to save some energy

Aren't you going to think about CudaMiner thsn ccminer? CudaMiner is more optimized on Nvidia VideoCards and most Nvidia users are using it for mining but I amn't good at GPU rigs mining and don't know if it's possible to mine with many GPU's while using cudaminer.
Also I think you already know that ccminer's 64 bit version is faster than 32 bit.
I hoped it helped you at least a little.

Ya, I ment 1045MH.

What exactly should I do to increase hash rate. I've overclocked them a bit but that's it. How do you know when you have maxed out a cards potentail without damaging it?

Can the Cudaminer mine LBRY?

I don't think cudaminer supports LBRY. LBRY has it's own algo. I wanted to also mine it but I just gave up and went back to mining alts.

I don't think anyone would ever limit their hashrate that doesn't make and sense. Rather buy a lesser GPU then.

just don't overclock ram too much, and oc only the core, it will result in a crash in a worst case, which will not damage the card

I have turned my RAM speed all the way down, it dosent seem to effect the LBRY algo.
