Hoping I can get some suggestions as to what people are using to keep track of their investments when buying Bitcoin, Altcoins, etc. Are you putting things in an Excel spreadsheet/ Google document? Are there programs that you are using to keep track of what you invested? Do you remember everything in your head? I know some exchanges have a buy history but some do not or don't have a very easy to use interface.
I only trade with a small amount of Bitcoin and several Alt-coins, but I need to stay organized and keep track of my investments.

My tiny brain, a txt file with the original prices written down and the Poloniex balance screen.
I don't indulge much in alts any more but I could imagine you might end up going batty if you had a mountain of them.

Keeping track of records for everything is always good. I just maintain spread sheet for track of trades and calculations and a hand note for quick review and quick update within a day.

One will quickly run into limitations relying only on a spreadsheet as the number of transactions and tracked securities grows. Instead I highly recommend ledger, which is a free and open-source accounting package. It is intended to be a general purpose accounting system but it has a number of features that are important when working with cryptocurrencies: - custom securities including custom currencies
- lot tracking
- infinite precision values; eschewal of floating-point mathematics
- simple importing of price histories
This reddit post gives a short introduction to using ledger to account for Bitcoins.

That's right, just like for making an accountant for my out or in. that's will make me feel more easiest for keep track of my fund like how much fund is out and into my pouch. Just using a Microsoft excelled is already enough for me for making a note for all of my transaction.

I used to use Excel for my stock investments, but it's become unnecessary. I buy stocks through one single transfer agent, and that website lists it in a portfolio format. And then an online broker for two other stocks. Bitcoin I don't keep track of, but I probably should. I'm just not that organized in general, and my investments aren't that wide. I did like Excel when I used it. It was easy and did everything I needed.

If the original Backside walkaround can prove to me they are the old owner of this account, I can update the email address to the email address of their choosing. Backside walkaround has lost access to their account as they used someone else's email address to sign up, and the owner of the email address got tired of random email notifications from this site after a few months and reset the password.

The gist of it is that you write your transactions to a plain text file in a certain format and then use ledger to generate reports. Read the Reddit post I linked to for a short introduction and the Ledger documentation for details.

I suppose my jotter is sufficient for me to keep track of all my trading ventures - it's not much to start with. The jotter allows me to revise things without having to switch on the computer.

I don't use any special application or toole. I'm not so active in trading so more or less I have data in my head or in some simple notes. But from time to tim is good to review the story of trading so that you can easier predict the future.

I use a spreadsheet to keep a record of my trades.
To keep up with market prices and get alerts I use Blockfolio Android app.

Me too, I am too lazy to have a spreadsheet to update my coins or trading investment. Much better if someone can provide a downloadable .xls file to for us to used as a pattern.Besides,I only trades several coins where I can remember all of them.

Nooo, I'm just trading cause I like to have fun some times. I don't do it with big figures, and I don't need record's of my trading, for that I use history of trades too see what I did. I'm not so much for keeping records, I didn't find myself in trading, I do it cause it's like some game for me, I pick coins on luck and little research here on forum, so there is no purpose for me to do that kind of things, it's for professionals who invest a lot.

you must do whatever you feel is best for you. i did an excel sheet for a while and i think it is the best and easiest way of keeping track of what you are investing and your trades (profit and loss for each and total) it is all about the way you put in the formulas. so if you are good with excel go for it. however i have moved on to a bot (my own) and i made that take care of everything for me now.

To have a record of your trade is a good idea so that you could keep up and organized. I like this way, sooner I'll be making my record.Since I am new and not started trading yet.

I use a very simple excel sheet. I simply put in: date --> pair --> buy/sell --> amount coins --> current fiat value It makes it very easy to track your trades if you don't have too much trades, otherwise it would require just more typing work. I simply look at the sum, and when I bought off my initial investment, I'm running free

For details about my transactions I use the exchange stats, then I write down profits/losses on my diary. Keep tracking of crypto old school style

for other investment (not bitcoin/altcoin related) i have spreadsheet in excell if necessary but mostly i have it in mind since it is only 1 or 2 investments. but for trading i don't really keep anything these days, i did it in the beginning to keep track of everything and learn at the same time but now i only look at my total balance on bittrex wallet and how it changes. and if i need some history i export the .CSV file that is available from my orders tab.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.
