Greetings,

back then i created a new email adress just for use with this board.

Since last week i get Spam.
The Spam is also BITCOIN RELATED (phishing mails etc.) so its a SECURITY ISSUE imho.

Any other users experience this? If yes the community should be informed asap.

Greetings

Interesting, you're gone for a year and a half and you come back to complain about this?  Change your e-mail address!

This from Theymos: (in 2015)

“On May 22 at 00:56 UTC, an attacker gained root access to the forum’s server. He then proceeded to try to acquire a dump of the forum’s database before I noticed this at around 1:08 and shut down the server. In the intervening time, it seems that he was able to collect some or all of the “members” table. You should assume that the following information about your account was leaked:
– Email address
– Password hash (see below)
– Last-used IP address and registration IP address
– Secret question and a basic (not brute-force-resistant) hash of your secret answer
– Various settings”

yes i come back and "complain" - sorry 'bout that?
I change my adress as i get spam (so i did already) but other people cannot just change (in terms of "dispose") their email adresses (or they would have to change it on some dozen other boards)

I keep an eye on every spam mail so i can say that last week it's the first day my email adress used on that baord got spammed.

As mentioned in the other topic, i think it would be fair to send another roundmail so people know there is spam and it may be bitcoin/phishing related. Smart spammers know how to target their target audience so people should be aware bitcoin-fishing mails may come.

however, since this topic is known it could be merged or just closed.

I'm sure we all appreciated the "heads up" but you're a day late and a buck short which made me laugh and I just had to poke fun.
You can lock the thread yourself if you think that's the thing to do.  Bottom left of the screen (I think).
