Topic says it all, i know i don't have the hash rate that's needed to generate new bit coin solo mining, but if i run the bit coin client 24/7 with a small .01 fee does that mean as blocks are created and are sent though the network, others who use bit coin and make /send coins . Will my client receive any small amount of coins for repeating the block chain?

basically is there any real pay off for running the client and not using it for anything?

No.

No. (although it will prevent the long "synchronization" time that you experience after shutting down the client for an extended time while your client catches up with the current blockchain)
