Hi,

I'm trying to get my head around Ripple (XRP) - I've found some good links on bitCoin magazine referencing how to BTC->XRP

http://bitcoinmagazine.com/ripple-getting-started-guide/

http://weexchange.co
But unfortunately when I tried it yesterday I couldn't get it to work and their support tickets are being answered :-(

Are there others that actually work?

Surely the strength of Ripple depends on lots of regional weexchange.co type sites which deal with local financial regulation?
[Could people please clarify this one?]

Cheers MX

It seems
Code:
Bitcoin -> Bitstamp -> XRP -> Ripple
or
Code:
Fiat -> Bitstamp -> Bitcoin -> XRP -> Ripple
is the way to go for the moment.

Are there any places online where you can spend XRP or are we not at that point yet?  Not that I even have any at the moment, mind you, I'm just interested in its viability as an actually currency.

For those who don't know yet. XRP is not intended to be a currency. It's only intended use is to pay for transactions. However, because so many people believe it will be a useful currency it does have a secondary market value and can be used to trade for other currencies. There are no places to buy things with XRP at this time.

Ripple is not XRP.  XRP is the currency used *by* Ripple.  If you're looking for an exchange, or somewhere to buy XRP try bitstamp.net.

Not really, only in part.  What it really depends on are users who trust eachother -- the users will dwarf the number of exchanges, the exchanges are just easier to use.
