YaCy harvests web pages with a web crawler. Documents are then parsed, indexed and the search index is stored locally. If your peer is part a peer network, then your local search index is also merged into the shared index for that network. If a search is started then the local index contributes together with a global search index from peers in the YaCy search network.

Peer-to-Peer Networking

YaCy peers continuously exchange index fragments using a Distributed Hash Table. Index data can therefore reach the local peer even before a user query is submitted, but of course it is still loaded from the remote peer network too when needed.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

That would make finding things easier on the wiki and forum . Smiley

Of course. I was just saying someone can create a custom search that spiders an entire project such as bitcoin. You can do that with google but the cia would know everything lol. It would be nice to search all of bitcoinia without being traced.

Bumping.
This is interesting project. Bitcoin users should check it out, because it is similar to Bitcoin. P2P, decentralization. Google has too much information already.

If SOPA passes google will start censoring wholesale more than they already do now. I've already noticed a sweeping ban of copyright vids that used to come up in video searches that have all disappeared and replaced with links to paid Amazon content

This is an awesome idea, except they host with xlink which in turn is getting domains from networksolutions (US company) which means this project is doomed should SOPA pass. Any time they want the US corporate gestapo can have all their domains pulled. Should have built it foreign/european from the ground up
