It is nice that bitcoin was mentioned in films and many people will hear it and will be curious as to what bitcoin is. But the problem lies on the negative connotation on bitcoin that film has. If it has been linked to criminal activities then the movie goers who will watch that movie will believe that bitcoin is a money of the criminal and there is nothing good in using it.

Added a new small documentation from economic audit firm Deloitte and its so-called Blockchain Institute. The short movie is called "Future of Blockchain" and shows four scenarios about the future of blockchain.

There is this episode in House of Cards Season 2 in which right after Zoe Barnes' death made Lucas Goodwin be desperate on looking for help, and one of his assistant mentioned the dark web in which a lot of illegal things was mentioned including Bitcoin Laundering. It made me thought how far Bitcoin went considering that Season 2 was aired in 2015 meaning even the producers are aware of what Bitcoin is.

Films are like the paintings of our lives, the world. Everything that comes out of a movie comes from life, and vice versa, what happens in life is always reflected in the movies. Bitcoin exists and grows, it is certainly known, and here, it appears with an accompanying evasion, bitcoin being used to launder money. Instead of talking about the good things, they talk about bad things about bitcoin, which makes me feel unhappy.

Yes I've seen the first 10 episodes and Bitcoin was in at least 3 of them. Usually describe as a way to launder money and make it untraceable.
In one episode (I think 8 or 9) there's a Bitcoin early investor, who became rich and changed his name to dotcom.

I added two new movies where Bitcoin appears or is mentioned. Bitcoin Heist from 2016 and Deep Web from 2015.

There are also some older short documentaries from bitcoinfilm.org like Bitcoin in Argentinia or Bitcoin in Uganda. I did not add them to the opening post because such short films will lead to a rampant post.

Funny movie, indeed  But it is not the kind of movie I look for the collection list. There are a lot of such or similar movies on Youtube where Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies are mentioned to part of the story. To list them all, it would burst the thread. Nevertheless, thanks for the communication.

Actually I have not seen any movie showcasing bitcoin neither have I watched any news featuring bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. But I have listened to to one of the local Radio state in my area, in one of their programme they were like analyzing bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I think it would be nice if the movie writers can come up with such idea it would be a nice medium to advertise bitcoin to many people out their.
