[Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear

I came to hear about bitcoins in the tv series SILICON VALLEY .well u may have heard about the tv series mr robot .there also there is announcement of bitcoins and heard about it .so i asked my friend about bitcoin and here i am in this bitcoin forum ..kudoos

Really? Could you name the season and episode where it appeared? Would be interesting because I have watched all three season without recognizing a mention of Bitcoin.

I reviewed a large number of films and TV series, but I do not remember that wherever a saw a sign Bitcoin (maybe I just was not paying attention).

I haven't seen any movie showcasing bitcoin but i had watched tv news featuring bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I would definitely wish to see the Mr robot series really excited to watch but internet speed is obstructing me

Funny, I watched the movie months ago and I did not recognize the logo. After I read the post here, I watched it again and you are right. By the way, I love this movie so I am a little bit upset that I did not see it first time

I didn't notice that the first time.  As a Bitcoin lover, I'm sad to feel I didn't recognize it right away. Deadpool is an awesome film.

   Few days ago I saw a movie about some kids on college that sells some drugs "moli", and they make all transactions with bitcoins. They send drugs with mail, and receive money in bitcoins. I didnt saw what was the name of the movie, just cause of bitcoins I watched till the end, movie wasnt so interesting for me, teenage story.
   On Fox there is black list where they mention bitcoins couple times, and i think there is couple more shows where they mention bitcoins. I always feel something when I hear they mention bitcoins on tv.

It does sound very like Dope movie, doesn't it? Teenagers are dealing with drugs and some customers pay with Bitcoins. I watched it some time ago and remembered again when I read your lines.

I can see a scenario like that what happened in Mr. Robot happen in the future. It might not be of the same scale but ransomware creators are getting better and better at infiltrating systems. So in the near future we will see banks become victims of ransomware demanding Bitcoin payment. Most of the banks in the world are using Microsoft software, it will be easy pickings for the hackers.

Was there already a third season confirmed for Mr. Robot?

From my own experience, banks are only run Microsoft operating systems within saved environments or closed networks. Systems which are in the "demilitarized zone" (as it is sometimes called for systems which can be reached from outside the bank) are based on Linux servers or even on old IBM mainframes. So your scenario is kinda impossible.

I actually knew about bitcoin a long time ago and tried to earn some but back then there was not much to help me do so , so i forgot about it and then when i was watching MR Robot they mentioned something about bitcoin and that refreshed my memory so i searched back on the internet and found out that bitcoin has relay grown since the time i left it, and they also mentioned something about bitcoin being used in the black market which is correct.

it is nice list. I have read a few threads talking about this movie. I thought it was a movie (a long movie in 2 hours length), but it is movie with some episodes in fact. so how many episodes of this movie? well if it has so many episodes, I think I am not able to watch all of them. I want to watch it after all.

mr robot season 1 have 10 episodes and mr robot season 2 have 12 episodes . happy watching

I havent watched the show, but I encounter some groups in facebook chatting among themselves about a film wherein bitcoin was mentioned several times. Then after reading the post of the author, I realized that it is this film. Ill gonna check out this film to check, Im curios as how it was mentioned. Hope more films portray or discuss bitcoin but hope not on the negative terms.

I started watching the second season of Mr. Robot today. Immediately in the first episodes, the Bitcoin sign occurred several times.

That is why I did come up with the idea to open this thread, in which Bitcoin mentions in popular series and films should be documented .

Alright, now you are going to make me binge watch mr.robot television show all night, thank for that  A quick google search found some bitcoin documentaries which are cool, but, I can't seem to remember seeing bitcoin hidden in a mainstream television show/movie, ever. Kudos to you, for catching the bitcoin subliminals in that tv show, I guess once you start training the mind to look for certain things, they become easier to see.

In my opinion, it is not a series for everybody. If you are interested into Bitcoin then you could like it. I have friends who do not like the story. I do by the way.
