Maintaining proper humidity level

Hi fellow miners.  I have an average build in the garage, 405mhs dual mining (9000mhs dcr) with 390s, 470x and 480s.  I do have one 280x, which I should sell.  The heat isnt really a problem so far, winter is coming  But my dog seems to start feeling the effects of the lower humidity in the house.  I put a humidifier in the bedroom for the night, seems to help, so my question is :  How to you guys manage humidity levels ?  I wouldnt be suprised to find sub 35% humidity in my house without the humidifier on dry days.

 I keep a spray bottle of water handy and occasionally walk around the room spraying a mist it if I see the humidity below about 30%.  It boosts the humidity for quite a while but I don't have any empirical data for you.  I also use this method in winter for long duration car trips but the spray bottle is much smaller.

Evaporative cooler aka "Swamp Cooler" - both helps keep the temps under control for a LOT less money than an A/C in low-humidity areas, and helps keep the humidity level up.


I don't worry too much about humidity levels though, the relatively dry air where I'm at now seems to be HELPING my sinuses a lot.

thanks for the ideas guys.  I'm all good with the dry air, but it seems to be affecting my dog which sucks   that spray bottle idea is pretty smart.  Now i'm thinking hooking that up to a controller to have it spray when humidity drops below 30%...could be fun, or could ruin my floor with water.  or both.

I just put a few bucket of water in the room and let them evaporate. That will keep the reasonable humidity there.
