I haven't heard anything from either one of the candidates about Bitcoin.

It would be a great question to ask if you were chosen to participate in one of the debate audiences.
We actually need to hear more from both of them regarding their plans on technology/ the internet, and payment systems like Bitcoin tie into that discussion.

WikiLeaks posted some hacked emails from the Clinton campaign that say the Clinton’s are being advised by Stan Stalnaker (a Ven promoter) that Bitcoin is not as good as Ven.

The US government can't be too harsh on Bitcoin since it auctioned the Silk Road coins, it's too late for the Clinton’s opinion of Bitcoin to make it do a policy U-turn.

Newly leaked Clinton correspondence from WikiLeaks shows that her campaign saw the benefits of cryptocurrency but had antipathy towards Bitcoin.

snip

The Ven promoter (Stan Stalnaker) wanted Clinton’s campaign to use Ven to enable single click micro-payments and other fundraising activities for the campaign. “As we discussed, Bitcoin is being used on the Republican side and could be a useful tool, but we think Ven is a better choice for your campaign due to its environmental benefits, identity metrics and closed loop status.”

So we actually are hoping for a trump win in the bitcoin community if you look at it this way  Tongue

how many average Chinese whales care in the slightest who Hillary Clinton is or what she does or doesn't like?

the price dropped because there were more sellers than buyers at the original price. that's all the explanation anyone needs.

It's only down by $10, it's got to go down further than that before it starts testing the support levels that were resistance levels less than two weeks ago. This is a small correction from the price rises over the last month. In late September it was still below $600.

I want Trump to win, the entertainment coming from that would be epic. Who knows, maybe Melania could be the next president when all is in ashes - it would be poetic.

I don`t think that Hillary have anything with current drop. Politics cant affect price that much, and that is campaign. She is not a president yet, as we know she can easily lose.
Thread from today say that this is last drop before price increase on 700 dollars, there is a chance that this little drop it`s really just warming up for some high jump. Thread no.2 has some pictures from 4 years ago, price movement in October and November, if there is a bit truth that history repeating then we gona have interesting winter.

No, there is some tension and uncertainty once again as interests are pushing for a hard fork to BU.

Yeah I guarantee 99.99% of the people watching the debate tonight have never even heard of Bitcoin.
It took me like an hour to explain Bitcoin to my father and he still has no idea how it works other than its "internet money".

It's going to be another president or two before most of the people voting know about cryptocurrencies and the candidates stance on the issue makes a difference.
I guarantee that they got that Ven letter and Hilary said "what the fuck is Bitcoin?"

Trump is committed to preserving Internet freedom for the American people and citizens all over the world. He believes the U.S. should not turn control of the Internet over to the United Nations and the international community which is what Obama wants to do. Hillary would be a continuation of Obama's presidency. How that would affect Bitcoin exactly, I'm not sure. But I doubt the Globalists would be for bitcoin as they can't control it, though if they could control the internets however...

I think Trump should win this election however clinton is getting lots of support recently and if she will not support bitcoin when she get elected it is sure that lots of billionaire from US will force her to rethink about her steps as billionaire loves bitcoin and its easy for them to manipulate price and earn big profit constantly due to low marketcap bitcoin have.

I dont know whats the reason  of  bitcoins  price decrease as of the  moment. I have no idea regarding on hillary clinton campaign  because  as far as  i know they would  really not  give such impact on bitcoins price  for sure.  Maybe  traders  and bitcoin holders  already sold their bitcoin on $640 - for sure.

Truth, bitcoin hasn't went anywhere in today's events. Just stable. Trump won and that's the end of it.

Yes but this is again just the small group making some noise.
I don't see this as a real threat.SegWit will come and be activated.I have no doubt about that.
Regarding Clinton I don' t think this news had any influence on the price as well. The same with the ECB news.
Mostly the market decided to go down a bit as no further pushing happend after that small bump.

It's funny how this comes up as reason in your head. It's just the regular whale play that gets the price to go up and down a few bucks. Don't always look for reasons.

exactly this, especially the last part. i have given up on finding a reason for every single rise and fall as long as they are smaller than $20 change. that is just normal changes of bitcoin price.

besides bitcoin price is $631 right now and i don't know why OP is saying drop anyways.
