I would like to make a new coin that will trade for mail order marijuana in canada at first then maybe duplicate the process in other legal countries. Here is my plan make a wallet and have a market in the wallet for some cannabis items. If the coin gets a community then we can shop to a bunch of the existing m.o.m's in Canada but instead as a group of say 100 Canadian computer stoners we can tell them the price we want to pay or we let a different store have our business. One of the 1 million dispensaries in my city would buy into this . The ppl get cheap weed the dispensary gets more business . People could mine the coin to pay for their herb . If this has already been done then just forget about it. If not maybe i would put in some btc to get the ball rolling and then sell it to a dispensary. (i also have to talk to a lawyer to see if i'm allowed to sell a btc market to some hippy) anyway all the population in canada is back east overpaying for herb. I have absolutely no coding ability.
This's a great idea but very hard to put together. What you'd need:
- A scalable blockchain with low fees (This doesn't really exist yet, all current blockchains are pretty bad).
- A metered p2p content delivery network (This doesn't exist yet).
- Decentralized reputation system with smart contracts (This doesn't exist yet).
- A DApp that uses the previous three technologies to makes this all work.
- Growers.
- Shippers (Growers can most likely be shippers or have their friends ship stuff for them).
- Buyers.
- Marketing (social media presence & sponsored NEWS).
- Help center.
Some of these things will be free soon, like the blockchain, CDN and smart contract code. Other things like developing a custom DApp, marketing and a help center cost money. How will those things get paid? You could do an ICO, premine coins or have a % of newly minted coins given to those things.
The other option is to start a company who does all the things that cost money and then they advertise on the DApp or take a percentage of each sale. This stuff is really new so it's hard to know what path will work. Copying bitcoin with PoW mining and hoping for volunteers to do amazing things hasn't really worked out for any of the marijuana coins yet.
