I started on client 0.7, rock stable. Upgraded to 0.8 rock stable. Upgraded to 0.8.1 and it crashes a few hours after I start running it with a random error.
Last one was "failed to write block".

Is it just me or does everyone have it? (I want to know if I need to troubleshoot my machine or downgrade or what)

What internet browser are you using?
what does that have to do with an offline bitcoin wallet?
I have IE10 installed as well as firefox, chrome, and iron.

What OS?

Win7x64 SP1
Full system specs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SLuM9UdnZbt45nDqt4ysaMC7wCnxgSOH2tWmIY6RgKU/edit?usp=sharing

So, I am taking it that this is not a usual experience everyone is having then?

You aren't offline when building the blockchain and I ask as I had similar problem which seemed to be solved when I changed from chrome. Every time I try using chrome the wallet crashes.

I have had the 0.8.0-qt client crash on me twice in the past couple of weeks with the cryptic message "Failed to write block." I'm on Mac OS X and have plenty of disk space. I'm upgrading to 0.8.1 as we speak, but the OP spoke of this happening with 0.8.1, so I doubt it will fix the problem.

you can always delete everything in the bitcoin data directory except for wallet.dat (and maybe bitcoin.conf if you have it), and allow the client to redownload from scratch.

I'm also on Win7x64 SP1. Using Bitcoin v0.8.1-beta Build date: 2013-03-17 15:35:36 -0400.
No problems.

I get this error at least once a week...I'm on a Mac Mini with an internal 2-disk SSD RAiD.  I thought maybe it was on account of the RAID...which would be really weird, but, guess not.  I'm not the only one...

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.
