ScooterCoin is still rolling. Yes, really. 🛵
A small update for anyone wondering whether KIBICoin / ScooterCoin quietly disappeared into the Great Altcoin Retirement Home:
We’re still here — and the infrastructure is getting some overdue TLC.
• Wallets and nodes: startup, staking and service reliability are being improved. Wallet code fixes and regression tests are also underway.
• Block explorer: back online, catching up, and receiving further reliability and security work.
• Website: getting a refresh, with more accurate history, more links to actual blockchain evidence, and approximately the same irresponsible quantity of pink.
ScooterCoin’s chain goes back to 2016, when it was known as KIBICoin. It later became ScooterCoin and moved from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake in May 2022. The old mining pool has now retired gracefully. The blockchain has declined to follow its example.
This remains an open-source hobby project with real wallets, real transactions and open participation. No grand corporate master plan. No scheduled world domination. Just an old altcoin that refuses to stop scooting.
And yes, you can still buy SCOOT on FreiExchange:
