It's a carbon-copy of bitcoin that offers nothing new. Essentially play money.

That said, I've got BTE to trade for BTC at 100:1 exchange rate. PM me... Smiley

It offers a new beginning. It has already minted in 48 hrs what took bitcoin 4 months.

So it's just for people who are upset they didn't get into bitcoin earlier?

Starting with difficulty of 1 ensures that a small pool of miners would collect a large amount of coins in the first few hours. They should have launched with a much higher difficulty to allow more people to participate from the beginning.

I think there may be a little more merit to the idea of a carbon copy of bitcoin than than their would appear at first glance. check out my post about it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167023.0

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

I don't see what the problem is.  It's not like Bitcoin is going to develop cancer because someone made a twin.  Then again, if I had a clone of myself, I'd probably attempt to kill it.  But after realizes how fucking awesome he was, we'd probably get along swell.

Then maybe he'd tried to kill me.  Shocked

If the two of you had sex, would that be homosexuality, or masturbation?
