I usually use LBC but decided to check out the market for the first time ever. I quickly learned that Paypal is the devil, no one trusts each other, and everyone is like, on edge and metaphorically looking over their e-shoulder, like in a dark alley at night. I've combed through these forums till my eyes turned red trying to find out the proper way to conduct business here and keep running into people that waste my time or try to pull a fast one. Please, someone with experience or "street" smarts, give me the lowdown on this place. Can't believe I'm actually getting stressed dealing with some of the clowns here. I'll save you guys a long rant, mad uncool vibes in this corner of the web, is it even worth the hassle?

It's always better to trade virtually instead of meeting face to face as your privacy is not protected and things could go wrong (like really go wrong). If you will be accepting PayPal as a payment method then you shouldn't find a problem finding a Bitcoin seller since there is a lot of trusted members, If you are the one sending PayPal , then people may find it hard to trust you (as you are a newbie, it's nothing personal).
It's still possible to buy through Virwox (It's a trusted and legit service that accept PayPal) otherwise just head here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 and do what I told you above.

P.S : I wouldn't trade with users that are ranked less then Hero member (and always check the trust history) and use escrow .

I have all these options except coinbase available (I'm on the east coast). I'm going right back to LBC and staying my ass there, this place, I dunno man, I just don't know.

I've only bought using coinbase and it works for me. If you don't want to link a bank account to your purchase, you could use localbitcoins and meet in person. There is also a site called circle that I haven't used, but I imagine it's similar to coinbase.

Yes LBC is a good option for you as you have been trading there and are well aware how things work there. In the meanwhile you should spend more time here also and learnt how trade works here and you will find here also some good genuine sellers available can also use any of reputed escrow here but firdt spend more time

See if there are any Bitcoin ATMS near you:

The fees are sometimes high but quick and easy.

There is no Atm for bitcoin in my country. So I have recently bought 20$ and something around that. It can useful in any atm machines but monthly charges are applicable for using the card. I would suggest you one best option to buy bitcoins. Check any one local trader or use escrow like sebastianju or neotax in the trade. I these 100% successful in the trade.
