Hello

We are building mining rig, we will have probably 2x HD 7990 for start, planning to mine zcash,eth,monero...

There are some problems we are facing right now and we need answers:

1. the PC we are planning to buy have this cpu: cpu celeron D 3ghz - which is only 1 core cpu - Will it be enough for our rig with 4 gpu in the future?

2. The pc has installed windows 7 32bit, Is there problem with this? Are miners like nicehash, Qtminer etc. compatibile with 32bit version of windows?

Thanks

Nothing interesting found there only few cloudmining servicies wich I'm not interested in, I know that for example zcash nicehash miner requires windows 64-bit, but what about other miners?

if you planning to build a multi gpu mining rig , dont mess with 32bit windows version .

Ok, so you think there can be some problems with 32, can you be more specific? because we have cheap offer for that pc...

AFAIK the only 32-bit capable client for any of those coins is the "tsiv" Nvidia fork of ccminer for XMR.

32 bit OS are pretty much dead - I'm actually a bit shocked Micro$loth bothered offering a 32-bit version of Windows 7.
About the only place you find them any more is some of us stubborn folks with working XP machines that don't want to downgrade those machines to something newer as long as they're getting the job done, and a VERY FEW companies with some sort of production machines running on a 32bit OS that don't HAVE an "upgrade option" for those machines that is cost-effective.

The biggest issue is that a 32 bit OS only addresses a total of 4 GB *TOTAL* = of which a substantial part (commonly 1-2 GB) is allocated to talk to various I/O stuff like the "shared ram address space" for video cards. With the continuing "bloat" issues with OSs that is leaving less and less usable space to actually run programs in.

Either dig up a 64-bit version of Windows (7 is still preferable for mining overall, 10 has had a lot of teething pains and they aren't entirely cured yet) or plan to move to a 64-bit LINUX (probably Ubuntu or it's varients like *MY PREFERED* XUbuntu in the 14.04 or 16.04 versions as those are the most widely supported for mining software).

Pentium D is dual core (the clue is in the D  Wink) .. also most mining software is optimised for 64bit or simply missing a 32bit build.

Do yourself a favor and forget 32bit.

Mining Zcash and  XMR on a 32 bit is not possible. I am not sure about ethereum. I think you can't mine it too.

You could always compile the miners yourself and resolve any issues with 64bit only instructions, however this would likely lead to a big performance penalty, not to mention lost time.

if you are going to use 32bit version of windows 7 for multiple gpu mining rig , definitely you going to face some issue .
- lower hashing speed if you can get any miner work
- no or minimal mining software support
- trouble for getting a 4 gpu system ( 2x7990 ) to work stable
- WIN 7 / 32 bit os are pretty much dead for mining and for anything else
- " Ok, so you think there can be some problems with 32, can you be more specific? because we have cheap offer for that pc..." -im sure that cheap offer not included a psu what can handle 2x7990 Smiley

its not clear what motherboard in that PC , what memory size , what is the psu wattage ...

The power draw for ONE 7990 at full load is around 350-400 watts !!! When u using the card for mining you must calculate by the full load power draw ...

So two HD 7990 will draw around 700-800 watts , your another system components ( cpu/mobo/hdd/mem ) probably around another 100-150 watts .

So you have to make sure your pc have at least 1000 watts power supply , 1200 watts better ...

Are you sure that motherboard capable handle 2x7990 ? that is 4 GPU ...

I suggest you to go for RX470 or RX 480. Sapphire or XFX. Get a solid processor and please don't go for windows 32 bit. All miners are designed to run on 64bit.

you can say at least 95% of it run on 64bit. Please read across various topics and discuss with people who build mining rigs and then decide to build your rig.

Not 100% true - but generally so.
There *is* at least one 32-bit miner out there, for NVidia mining XMR.
Counting on a 32 bit OS to mine on however is a VERY BAD idea at best.

The 7990 should be a solidly profitable card if the OP has a low cost of electric, running ZEC or ETH, and might very well cost LESS than a RX 480 or RX 470 at current pricing for the things for a TON more hashrate abet at a lot higher power draw.
