I like the idea and because it didn't work in the past doesn't mean it cannot work now with different rules to the game.

Shoes on head is not really fun to pay for indeed, but someone vlogging his adventure would be pretty cool.

I can imagine something like climbing a mountain while streaming live. Pretty neat.

Yes, you are getting it.... It does not even have to be a Dare. Let's say you wanted to see the secret chamber in the Eiffel Tower {if it was

open for the public } ....then you pay someone to go there for you, and take a video for you... http://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/eiffel-tower-paris-secret-apartment

You might have been on holiday in the Grand Canyon, and you have heard about a hidden cave... but you could not find it... or you were not

physically able to reach it, but you really wanted to see it... then you offer the challenge to someone to go there and to video tape it for you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d86a4jZHijw .... Bucket List item ticked.  Wink ....pay the man please.  Grin

There is already a simple and effective service being developed right now with the new megaupload website. I think Kim Dotcom can move massive amounts of internet traffic and if he can get as much people on his website as he did with the original megaupload, then we are set because we'll go pretty much mainstream then. Well not mainstream but we'll get a big chunk of new people involved, since its a way to get paid and not only "pay with" (like steam)

I would not get my hopes up too high for that to happen... Kim Dotcom has a very controversial past, and we are all hoping he will get the

funding for that project... and even if he does, then we will only see this late in 2017. Something like this can be started within a week, if

you have some web developer skills, or even immediately if you want to host it on a existing forum. This is also community funded, so you

just need to promote it, and then bring the parties together.. {Escrow / Watchers / Participants}  Wink

Ok, So we need something daring and bold to take us to the Moon. This might just be it....

Let's call it BitDare or you can think of any other name, that sounds funky enough to make this work. The concept works like this :

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3531824/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1  { The Movie Nerve } https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2xdxlO3M4Y

Plot : A high school senior finds herself immersed in an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of "watchers."

This would be our Bitcoin spin on this :

People suggest a Dare they want to see accomplished within a specific time period. They have to fund this request, if they want to see

someone taking on this Dare. { The bitcoin for this Dare are being held by a Escrow } We call these people the Funders.

Then we have the Watchers... They pay a little fee to watch the Dare. {This could be streamed live via https://streamium.io/ or

http://onperiscope.com/ or pre-recorded and uploaded to a Pay-per-View Bitcoin service } These fees goes towards hosting fees and paying

the Escrow services.

It's too complicated to be done often or accepted by a larger number of users.

All Dares must be within the laws of your country { It should be legal } and not be dangerous. { No serious injuries or Death please }

The reward can be paid out, once the Funders are satisfied that the requirements for the dare was met.  Wink

So let's get cracking and take this thing to the Moon.  Grin

* Any examples of dares you would want to see.... ? Let's discuss ...  Grin

Thanks for the link.  Cheesy

Well, I read the whole thread and yeah, it didn't pan out, but it's not quite what I had in mind. That was disappointing.
I was thinking maybe videos/live videos and a not so generic dare like a shoe on the head. But huh, showing ones face is actually daring. lol.  Tongue

On the hand, I could just imagine the price of bitcoin at that time. throwing away several .5 BTC for a shoe on the head? wow.
And cleaning up some street gutter for 25 BTC? That's like $17,000 today.   Shocked Shocked Shocked

Well, that's just the way Bitcoin is.... One day it's valued at $700 per bitcoin and in a few years it would be valued at $10 000 per bitcoin, but

it's possible value in the future, is not a reason why you should not be using it today. The opposite is also true.... you might pay 1 bitcoin for

something today, when the value is $700 and in the next week it might drop to $400.... Then you would applaud the bargain you paid for

that product or service.  Wink

That's an ok idea, however I believe that you're basing this basically entirely off of a movie that came out recently, Nerve, and personally I think this would quickly lead into a bunch of illegal activities being performed for entertainment of other people. Probably a bad idea in reality.

The idea might be something to go off of, but not in this way.

Here is my other opinion about this. As i've read replies aboved they havecstated that itvwas been done before and fails. The thing here was people in this community is trying to protect their identity which we all know the primary concern here.

This is a bloody good idea, because the previous attempt < Shoe on the Head > was poorly funded and nobody knew about Bitcoin at the time. I already have a few ideas in mind with this, like someone farting in

a plastic bag and setting it on fire. < I have seen this being done through someones pants and it was hilarious > I can just imagine what will happen once people start paying for someone else to pull pranks on their

friends. People farting in lifts, just cracks me up, so I would definitely like to dare someone to do that. The Youtube videos are a bit fake. ^smile^ Just one question before I go, who decide if the dare or the prank

was done correctly? Votes or the person who is paying?

id say the person paying gets the majority vote. but others work as arbitrators to ensure the payer doesnt back down at the last minute with a lame excuse to not pay.

Not sure if you guys are familiar with the movie "13 - Game of Death." It's basically the same thing. He gets text messages of what to do and there's a bounty in every challenge that he accomplish. In the end, he found out that he's being watched by people around the world. I loved that movie, you should check it out. There's another good revelation in the end.

Nevertheless, this is still very interesting. I can imagine people going to crazy places just for a dare (e.g. abandoned places, obscure places like the woods, etc). Those would surely be thrilling. I personally would enjoy watching more videos like that. I just hope that those crazy 'viners' wouldn't invade this project. I also hope that the tasks in this game will be moderated. You don't want to be seeing boring tasks like "Buy me a pizza and deliver it to my address." etc.

maybe moderation can be done easily.
by making the dares cheap(pennies per payer). but allowing many people to crowd fund it to make the total a worthy bounty. thus if many dont like the dare it doesnt get much funding, thus no one bothers doing it. and after X days/weeks the pennies get refunded.

also it helps make people not need to self fund a large pot of funds, while also increasing the crowds (popularity) by again not asking much from 'the watchers'

I think there should be a 'voting' system and the points shouldn't depend solely on the funds that it receives. Using the funds as a voting system will be not that good sometimes. For example somebody creates a task that nobody else want but he has enough money to fund it, then his task will be accepted anyway. But you can also set a maximum amount of funds you can put in every task to solve that problem.

On a different thought (if that makes sense), how does games like this one gets funding and all that necessary stuff? I know that ICO does that by promoting and all, but I've never seen a game.

but having random voters who have no desire, no input into a boring dare shouldnt have a majority say. otherwise the majority of danger seekers will just vote everything as too boring to veto it and can escalate into only the thrill seeking dares. thus limit the choice and become a biased set of dares.
it either becomes pure boring dares of just shoe on head by those wanting 'christian safe' dares. or pure porn or pure stunt fails.. depending on people who cant even be arsed to pay to have a say.
eg "show boobs for BTC" ends up turning into a porn site if the majority of voters are single guys. who as you say are not gonna pay.

or become empty because everyone with different desires veto's each others dare they dont like.

i think having a maximum per payer and then crowdfunding it allows those who want it to vote for it with their small amounts. thus everyone wins.

it either becomes pure boring dares of just shoe on head by those wanting 'christian safe' dares. or pure porn or pure stunt fails.. depending on people who cant even be arsed to pay to have a say.
eg "show boobs for BTC" ends up turning into a porn site if the majority of voters are single guys. who as you say are not gonna pay.

or become empty because everyone with different desires veto's each others dare they dont like.

i think having a maximum per payer and then crowdfunding it allows those who want it to vote for it with their small amounts. thus everyone wins.

I was thinking that the Funders of the dare, should be the only people having any influence in the payment of the dare. They could have some

voting system amongst themselves, if they cannot reach consensus on the outcome. You have to remember, some of these dares would be

individually funded... so nobody else should have inputs into the payment of the dare, apart from the person or persons paying for it.  Wink

I watch Twitch.tv a lot, recently I noticed increased number of live streams where streamer is in public place (restaurant, bar, mall etc.)
People watching the stream are giving instructions what they want streamer to do next (buy bigmac & chicken nuggets and talk to that girl who is sitting at the next table, for example).
Form what I notices these type of show is becoming extremely popular and donation are flowing constantly. Incorporating bitcoin in something like this is actually not bad idea.

I have noticed this too with Twitch.tv and I think they also used Bitcoin before with eSport streaming of live tournaments. There was a discussion on this https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/202m70/twitchtv_should_consider_bitcoin/ but I think the regulation in the USA is slowing it down.

Someone in another country, other than the USA should launch this to speed things up. I also watch http://onperiscope.com/ but do not know if they are US based? We need a Bitcoin friendly country to run with this as soon as possible. ^smile^
