I use bitcoin-qt wallet and purchased a bitcoin. I made a transfer around 2 days ago and it is still listed as unconfirmed. I looked up the transaction ID on blockchain but I'm not sure what the results mean. Any help appreciated!

Are any of your transactions being confirmed, or just the one?
I've also just started using bitcoin-qt a couple days ago and 0 of 3 transactions have been confirmed so far. Beginning to lose faith in this whole thing.

If you didn't include any fees (look for the Fee in the transaction) then it might take many hours to confirm. If you want a quick transfer, include a fee, e.g. 0.0005 BTC.

I bought a bitcoin on ebay, gave the guy my wallet address and it transferred to my wallet OK. This is my first transfer out of my wallet.
Would it be something to do with not having set a fee? Blockchain seems to say there was no fee. It has taken more than hours - as you can see from Blockchain it has been over 2 days now.

The impression I've gotten so far is that if you do not set a fee, it can take a long time. Also, if your coins are new, it can also take a long time for some reason (miners concerned about double spending possibly?).
Seems to be a large hindrance to entry into the bitcoin world if new users have to wait days for their first transactions to post. Can anyone else confirm if it's normal for first transactions to take so long?

Would appreciate if someone could interpret the status of the transaction on blockchain

Did you paste a link? If so, I don't think it's showing (noob restrictions maybe).

It'll be confirmed, eventually. Can take a couple of days if there was no fee included.

Assume it's resolved now? I had the same problem sending yesterday afternoon - confirmed and received as of this morning.

I also had a transaction with took 3 days to get confirmed when I did not include a transaction fee in my local wallet. As a test I made a second transaction with 0.0005 transaction costs and that one was confirmed within 15 minutes. Good lesson for me, include transaction costs
