There needs to be an alternative to Zcash that fixes 3 things.
1. Complete removal of the 20% "Genius Tax"
2. Open and better initial trusted setup. No weird private ceremony that only a few people in a cool club get to be a part of.
3. The value of the coin should go UP over time, not down. Removal of the slow start helps this. There is also no need to super hype up the coin ahead of time. Let the early mining hashrate and value of the coin be low. It will go up over time, that that benefits early adopters.
No name for the coin yet. I welcome suggestions. I'm sure they will be amazing.

Whoever mines the block which ends up containing your transaction will get its fee.

Do it. I'm in. Just make sure to have a windows miner before release. Suggested Name: Zcash Classic or Zcash Unlimited.

lol, i'd have to laugh if the clone knocks the original out of the park due to specs.
But let's be honest; there isn't really demand for a coin that isn't trustless. It's only good for shortterm speculation and playing the zero sum game of musical chairs.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.
I'd like to throw a terrible name in the hat to get the ball rolling since Zcash is trademarked and the corporate overloards there don't want me to use any part of it.

Founders can't avoid a fork. Just like they forked bitcoin.
Another idea for a name: "DMoney" (Decentralized Money) ... other ideas?

Name suggestion: Snarks. But there are more than 3 things wrong with Zcash: 4. Transparent transactions are allowed, enabled by default and even possible if the receiver wants to remain private. 5. The creation of a transaction is slow and resource-heavy. With regard to point 5, CredaCash claims to use a much more efficient hash, but that's hardly a real blockchain. It uses 'permissioned witnesses' instead of miners and will premine everything. Source: http://credacash.com/compare/

Founders can't avoid a fork. Just like they forked bitcoin. more than a fork here is changing a "default option", you only need to strip 2 line of code, recompile and then reconnect to the network... you get 100% block reward (if you have enough hash power to find a block in solo mining) and the others get 80% block reward and other 20% go to "founders fee". read this: https://medium.com/@heyrhett/zcash-miners-stop-paying-20-genius-tax-486d9f40884f#.ypvzby4gbdefinitely not a fork.
