Hi all,

I'm fairly new to Bitcoin, I am usig Bitcoin Classic. I'm trying to transfer some coin to another wallet, but I'm having problems and wondered with if anyone with more experiance might be able to explain whats going wrong:

I first tried to transfer the funds, but might have accidentally sent a zero-fee transaction. After a few hours I noticed the coin hadn't been transfered (0 confirmations) so I looked up the transaction ID on BlockChain and was horrified to see that no transaction matching my ID could be found. Even searching for my Wallet ID didn't show the transaction, showing the old balance instead. After many hours trying to debug the problem I decided to run -zapwallettex to clear unconfirmed transactions from my mempool. I now seem to have my bitcoin back.

I left it a few days to see what would happen, nothing has happened.

Now I'm trying to send a smaller amount. I've sent two transactions one with medium priority fee's and 1 with maximum fees. I have the BTC to easily cover both. However, after nearly 2 hours; both transactions still have 0 confirmations. Although at least they show up in BlockChain.

I'm now worried that my wallet is totally screwed and that I've lost all my BTC, as obviously if I cant spend the BTC in anyway they are useless.

Please help

EDIT: Things seem slower than I was expecting. The high fee transaction has now gone thru. The medium fee transaction is still awaiting confirmation, but I have faith that it'll go though eventually.

Sorry for panic, mods can delete this post.

Better look up the recommended fees here:
https://bitcoinfees.21.co/
(currently 18,080 satoshis for a standard transaction)

Just wait and the transactions will be completed or canceled. Make sure to set a decent fee to make the transaction go smoothly. Sometimes we need to pay highest fees, sometimes lowest fees. All depends of the amount of transactions on that day.
Who pays more has priority.

Just want to  say that  you  must be  patient   to wait  for the confirmation  to be completed, It really depends on the  transaction fee that  oyu have  putted  on  on a  certain transaction, if you transfer  with  no fee then expect the confirmation  time  would be very  long  compared  to have those   fee. THe  higher   the fee the  faster  it would confirm. Some  members  already posted  the reference regarding  on  transaction fees.

Normally this is happen on while you transfer bitcoin, Its a kind of with in how many blocks its getting transferred. Always try to use blockchain. blockchain use to show minimum fees but it will transfer with in 4 blocks itself. I think you could have pay a fees of 80 cents I guess.

Yeah, you should not have panicked. In the past few days, the blockchain has been clogged up with transactions. This is the reason why transactions having low fees takes so long to confirm. I too had a transaction that confirmed after one and a half days.

Your first problem about canceling your first transaction did not affect your subsequent transactions.

If your problem has been resolved, I advise you to lock your thread. Smiley

I suggest you to migrate to the electrum wallet. You can download it here www.electrum.org . In this wallet go to TOOLS/PREFERENCES/DYNAMIC FEES (Make sure the tick box is checked). In the future this wallet can save you many frustrations that comes from non recommended or lower than recommended fee.

You can lock the thread now.

Op needs to check that he have valid transaction fees for the bitcoins he have in the wallet. If he could confirm that people can help on that accordingly.
