I sent Amazon a message today asking if/when they'd start taking bitcoin as payment, and mentioned bitpay as an option that's even cheaper than credit card merchant fees.  Here's what they sent me:

If you can take the time, please go to your amazon account some time this week and send a question in about bitcoin.  Obviously they are reading their mail.  The best way to get them to take it seriously is to have the customer base asking about it.  Cheers.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Bitpay is too expensive for Amazon unless the reduce their rate to 0.005 per transaction as they are being charged next to nothing by CC processors. Somebody legit here needs to sell Amazon credits on a regular basis I'd buy them for coins. Any popular site not taking bitcoin = opportunity for everybody here
