I do not have an antivirus

Here is your problem. Never, ever use a computer without an antivirus software. You probably have a trojan which records every movement you do and can do a remote access to your computer.

Format that PC asap and setup an antivirus first.

No, there isn't. Bitcoin transactions are not reversible. I suggest you to drink a glass of cold water and pretend like you spent that money on something cool.

And most importantly, install the damn antivirus. Smiley

And this is one of the setback of Bitcoin even though irrevasability has its own advantages the disadvantage should also not to be ignored. If it were to be Paypal, then one can get the money back or if not possible you can track down the account and even get it blacklisted. You have someone to lodge a complain to, but for Bitcoin, its gone forever and there is nothing you can do about it coupled with the fact that the address can be used to scam another person...

Holy shit! Just like that? No way to take back his own money? How is this thing helps the world a better place? It is even giving illegalities higher chance of protection.

So this is what I said regarding crypto wallets. It can be anonymous and cool but talking about lots of money it's still safe in banks due to their insurance system protection. So I am now contemplating if I continue to invest nearly all my monthly savings in crypto.

There is no chance to get that coins back,if you are using bitcoin for some time you might already know that ,always use a secure system to store your coins if not things will disappear just like this ,sad to hear about your situation,be careful from now on,spend a few buck to protect your system if not the loss will be huge

I feel sorry for you buddy. But you must further use anti-virus and a more secure operating system. This basic safety rules.

It's not a setback, it's a benefit.  You just have to take extra precautions to make sure that the benefit works in your favor.

Having that much bitcoin stored on a computer is not a great idea.  I'd look into cold storage or investing in a hardware wallet.

What's the benefit on it? It's for the benefit of the hackers and scammers instead. Even storing it in cold storage is prone to danger when you sync it online. Imagine if this is the world's standard. You have every true evidence to show and can track where your money went off and then the bank will just say to you "sorry it's done". In banking system at least your money is fully insured and secured. Even when your depository bank went bankrupt, robbed or burned down.

Imagine you sell something for 3BTC. They send the BTC and say 'I'll ship it in the morning'. You check your wallet and the BTC is gone, he reversed it. Oh dear! Now you have no BTC and no item.
BTC would sure be great if it was reversable, you're right. Would make scumbag's lives so much easier.

To your second point, Bitcoin is meant to be the complete opposite of banks, in that it is decentrilized. If it were reversable, it would mean that a certain person would make the call on what should happen. That would create a definite bias, which is extremely counter intuative.

It's your responsibility to store your Bitcoin in a safe way. If you're like OP and just leave over $10,000 sitting around on your main PC, I'm sorry but you're an idiot.
No one is here to hold your hand or reverse anything when you cry out. Take responsibility for your own belongings instead of wanting someone else to do it for you.
