Just an update as of 11/03/16 , 01:14 Am Forum time. The price of bitcoin is now $743 and it is really heading higher and higher. History repeats itself, just like what happened from the last rapid increase, bitcoin just did it again that it rise again and flying up to the moon. But I'm becoming scared, because out of this pump, dump will happen too.

there's not going to be a dump this time. It is the dollar/fiat that is going to dump this time.

seems like you are so confident about this bearish situation in bitcoin.

i know bitcoin will break another record , price can going up to $2,000 this time. who knows? if the current constant grow from $600 to almost $750 , nothing impossible , this may looks slow but i believe this gonna be a good ending.

i don't like getting ahead of myself either. and so far bitcoin price has been rising slowly with no huge rises. the last huge rise was during the halving hype and that wasn't even huge compared to a couple of years ago. that is why i say it is going to slow down and stay between 700-800 for a longer time.

Even that is very difficult to predict about the current trend whether it will break the 4 figures milestone this time or not. OP is looking very confident about more high price level around $3000 - $4000.

As the predictions get more and more into the manic stages that is where we should start to question ourselves if we are in another bubble or if this current price trend is caused by speculative buying. I would love Bitcoin to reach $3000 but is that really possible right now with the current economic state of Bitcoin without it being a speculative bubble?

it only takes a whale fund  to decide to jump in and we will never see 3 digit btc again
I am still surprised it hasn't already but all the pieces are falling into place and citizens globally are
getting increasingly dissatisfied with their banks and governments devaluing their fiat currencies ....

i'm open minded to the idea but the mood feels positive rather than exuberant or psychotic which is what you really need for an epic run upwards. i think the year will end well and maybe the really exciting stuff will start to happen next year.

To me steady growth is even better, it proves that bitcoin is getting more mature and adopted by a significantly wider audience.

This is what i wanted to happen to bitcoin price.  Steady growth, may it be slow at least the foundation is strong. This way there will be less victims of sudden bubbles of bitcoin.  With all the improvement in technologies, developing bitcoin for better mass adoption, this will take time and not just an overnight stuff.    So the moment bitcoin price gone crazy, the next issue lies ahead.  The market price wont be sustained resulting to decline in price and many investors losing a lot of money.

I do not know where you are getting the price but isn't 3000 too high too soon to dream. We have not broken ATH yet, so until we get passed that, then we can't state that price yet.

there will be people with inside info before the ETF's go live
insider trading maybe illegal but its still endemic in financial markets
some people will know in advance that the sec is going to approve btc
and finally let it be traded on wall st .........and of course this information
will be highly valuable and people who know about it in advance will fill their boots

Thejaytiesto, y'all might be a wee bit optimistic wit that $3000 prediction, but I do think we headed for $1000 pretty soon.  Bull market can go on fo a long time afore a crash comes aknockin'.  So that bein' a given,  I'd say it's a good time ta buy and hodl.

Price of bitcoin is in a stabilized range fluctuating within limits. It could get the all time high price by the start of the year 2017 depending upon the price movement happening by the year end. If it doesn't happen by the start then we can expect gradual increase in price till the middle of 2017.

Let's be realistic guys, 3000$ is not possible at this moment and probably will not be for a while. We all want this but this are dreams.
The price is looking good for now, it's heading up and it seems that this trend could continue for a while so let's be happy with this moment.

Indeed we are so blessed to have knowledge and experience the offers bitcoin have. So we just need to be contented on what its value (which is so good for us now) . If ever it will gets higher the next time still be thankful. Maximize what we have now invest/save more and spend less so when it gets higher and higher we can really feel it.

The longer Bitcoin exists, the harder it will be to make (controversial) changes to it's core. And that is how it should be.

Don't like it happening but Bitcoin tends to become a store of value over a p2p electronic cash system. Instead of burying gold people store their 12 word seed. Just for the fact being able to control one's own wealth. A basic right you would think.


So with or without Segwit, Bitcoin will see many new ATH's.

May be it is not possible to reach 3000$ it will take lot of time to reach to 3000$. In the year 2012 it is already crossed 1200$ may be it will take more than 2 years. Because daily many people are joining into bitcoin community so there are chances may be reach. At the same time there should be some buy walls that price should not fall. So thta it will definitely reaches the price for sure.

Positive signs and good sentiment are nothing more than a few steps forward, while we still have a huge path to cover. Our first target and at the same time struggle will be reaching and maintaining the $1000 level. After that we'll see whether or not we'll surpass the previous all time high of around $1200. In the meanwhile literally anything can happen with the price as Bitcoin isn't drama free.

It is clear that the price is struggling to break that strong resistance level around $800.

It will be interesting to see what will happen next days, if the price manage to break that strong barrier and start its way to a record high, or we see a strong correction to 600's.

I really hope SegWit won't activate. It would be the beginning of the end of bitcoin then. It's bascially the same thing as to allow one mining pool to have more than 50% of hashing power. Except of a mining pool we'd have one dev team that has more than 50% of central decision making power over Bitcoin.
