Hey guys just wondering if I could get a bit of help. The first time I used blockchain I was able to use online banking UK Domestic. However now it only allows me to do EU Sofort banking. Anyone else have this problem and willing to offer some insight?

I'm having this problem too, and it's a big one because Sofort Banking asks you to give your full banking credentials and passwords which I refuse, so you have to use an exchange like MtGox.

But I don't know why Sofort Banking is the only service offered.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

I have found bitstamp.net excellent. Fast and efficient SEPA deposits. Decent trading platform.

I can second the Bitstamp recommendation. I recently did a very small transaction just to try it out, and it worked as advertised.

Yeah IIRC BITSTAMP offers free deposits for UK users and is the only exchange I know of that does but withdrawals to UK bank accounts are not free  Sad

Bitstamp offers free for UK customers. I saw that there was an international fee, and it takes 2-5 days.

Interestingly enough, yesterday (and the preceding couple of days) the BT choice wasn't even available to select in blockchain.

It IS now.  However, once clicked a red message is displayed on top of the opened box stating BT is currently not available.

MAYBE a step in the right direction.  It was so simple and quick to use.

BitStamp apparently.

Now I've not tried it, however I'm browing their site.  There doesn't seem to be an option to deposit £, only $ and EUR.  We (UK) are apparently not in the SEPA zone.  Could anyone clarify how a UK user is to purchase btc from BitStamp?

Also check out, http://bitcoinfridge.co.uk/

So I can deposit GBP?

How long will it take to deposit/change to USD?

*EDIT*

Are we considered "International"?

Simply sign up to transferwise: http://transferwise.com/u/f0bd

Open bitstamp

Click SEPA deposit on bitstamp page to get payment/banking information

Back to transferwise and input the details from bitstamp by pressing the "make a payment"

Upload your GBP funds to transferwise by debit card or bank transfer and when they get that payment, the will then send it on to bitstamp as a SEPA payment.

24-72 hours later your bitstamp account should be credited and ready to buy bitcoin

I have had payments go through and arrive at Bitstamp same day, longest was next day but I guess it could take longer.

I don't think Transferwise is needed for BITSTAMP as they state on their website free deposits for UK bank accounts IIRC.  You need to send the money from your online banking as a international transfer/payment.

Does anyone know if Transferwise can be used to receive money in the UK cheaply as BITSTAMP does charge for UK deposits.
