My new mining rig, thoughts?

I am building a new rig, with multiple purposes. Gaming/Bitcoin mining. Parts consist of:
-Asus Sabertooth x79
-XFX 7970 (x2 Crossfire)
-OCZ Vector 256 GB SSD
-16 GB RAM
-i7 3930k 6 Core Processor
What are your thoughts? What do you think hashrate will be? Thanks in advance!

1110 - 1650 Mhs, depending on your luck with the cards, overclocking and wether or not your willing to loose the crossfire (it can only hurt your hashrate). But tbh thats more of a gaming pc.

Thanks for the reply. But yeah, like i said, more than one purpose. Isn't that a decent hashrate (given that it isn't just a miner)?

It's a decent hashrate, but purchasing it only to mine bitcoins could be a bad desicion. If you have a need for a such computer otherwise, go for it. Make sure you keep your 7970's nice and cool. I'd reccomend staying below 72c, or less.

Is this due to the next batch of ASICS due out which will put the difficulty through the roof?
Does the SSD have any affect on hash rate?
Is the i7 the best option or would an AMD processor be more efficient if this was purpose built for mining?

Yes, difficulty in general. I believe that if even not one more asic came online between now and lets say the following three months the difficulty would keep rising. But also asics are real and coming, propably in very vast quantities.

The SSD makes no difference in hashrate. Most of my gpu rigs ran of 2Gb usb-sticks, while I still had them.

You do not want to mine with a processor, so the only thing that matters there is it's power usage, less is better. Cpu (processor) mining was obsolete long ago, you can google mining hardware comparison and take a look at the hashrates cpu's get.

These parts are already coming in, and I like them for what I'm going to be doing. Rendering, mining and gaming. But, for a different build, what needs to change to be strictly a mining rig?

I'm guessing for a mining rig, less RAM, less processor power, decent case and cooling system.

No harddrive, usb stick instead, a mobo that takes 6 Gpu's, a cpu that draws less power and a high quality psu. All those account to a better Mhs/W (watt). But like I said, I allready sold mine and wouldn't repurchase.

This link shows hardware evaluations and agrees with the above recommendations.  aprox 1400 MH/sec alsoshows that each card will use about 200watts and the comp will use about that much so figure at least 600 watts total but i suspect it will be a little highter.

The calk shows about .09 bitcoins per day or about 9 USD per day if you mine 24/7  amd have no expenses to a pool operator.

If your are doing this for fun then go for it. If your plan is for making coins then you will have to contend with  increasing dificulty and pay off you investment before your better than just buying coins with the money and holding.  I like mining and consider it for fun, the profit is just a benefit.
