Cooperativa RadioTaxi 3570 now accepts bitcoin. The company claims to have the lowest price in all of Europe and boasts over 3,700 cars in Rome, providing more than 10 million cab services each year. and for the payment in bitcoin they are using Chainside described as a startup enabling businesses to accept bitcoin, something similar to Neteller using bitpay

Nice. I wonder when MY region would finally be able/willing to follow with all this adoption of Bitcoin as an alternative form of payment. I'd certainly take it, even with all the third-party service providers mixed-in.

Italy's got Taxis, France's  got Busses, next would be trains and then planes. I also want petrol. lol.

It's fantastic,  i would like to see more and more company accepting bitcoin, maybe next year some country can implemented subway and monorail payment using bitcoin and i can sense that companies already feel the bitcoin potential, there are so many company that start to accept bitcoin

wow, I think it would be an easy transaction, and I think that italy really think very quickly than others. they first utilize their bitcoin as a means of payment. hereby bitcoin is growing, and it is possible it could maintain price stability bitcoin if this is done by all countries. I'm not sure this will be successful. Italians love cash. Paying a cab with a credit card is abnormal there. I think most drivers can't even accept cards. They want cash. Buses in France are more promising as those tickets are bought online, at home. I think it's not even possible to buy a ticket in the bus, it has to be done online.

So another taxi company besides Uber is accepting Bitcoin. And in Italy. Cool.  It's interesting how taxi drivers are among first businesses who started to accept Bitcoin.
The only problem could be the confirmation time if you take only the short ride.

That is fantastic because I usually have a couple dollars in bitcoin on my smart phone which could be very useful to pick a taxi, i hate when I go looking for physical coins and the coins fall inside the car and I have to look for them.. physical cash is so annoying.

Very good. The more people do business with bitcoin, the more volume created on the blockchain; and more volume gives us higher prices and better distribution among bitcoin users.

Every business owner should start to accept bitcoin, doing that it can't harm your business in any way. If you don't trust bitcoin enough, you can get back to fiat just after you get your payment. It is risk free.

Its great news, but it still concerns me that you need an additional app/ company (Chainside in this case) to enable the payment.
Confirmation time is still an issue when paying with BTC in a live setting.

Are there no ticket vending machines at bus stations in France? There should be on metro stations and railroad stations though, right? I find it very strange to be only able to buy bus tickets online. What if you are a foreigner visiting France and want to ride the bus?

They are not accepting Bitcoins directly. You need to use the mobile app "BITTAXI" to make the payment using Bitcoin. They will be implementing this quite soon, but no dates are given in the website.

30,000 daily calls seem quite big and atleast few of those people may start to search about what actually is bitcoin which will increase awareness about bitcoin to public. Good initiative..

Everyday I am coming across bunch of good news that reads our that this and that accept bitcoin. It's marching towards success specially in 2016 that bitcoin is moving towards new height in popularity. If the current rate of adoption continues then definitely bitcoin should take next level.

It is good to see that people realize the benefits that brings Bitcoin and decide to accept it as a means of payment in their work.In the time to come there will be more and more businesses that will follow this example.It will not happen overnight, but in a few years things will be as regards accepting bitcoin, much better than today.

There is no such option still,but Swiss railway have in plan to star selling BTC on their ticket machine,maybe next step is to enable the purchase of tickets for BTC.
