Best mining card for under $100?

Yeah I already was there. But I cant find any of those cards. I was looking for the amd 5850 but all i can find is Sapphire.

Your not going to get much hashing power under $100. You should consider investing more, buying dedicated hardware such as ASICS, or just buy BTC. HD 5870'S go for about $160 on ebay. A 5870 should get you 393-420 MH/s which would make you about 3 bitcents or $3.83 every 24 hours (at the time of writing this). Hope this helps!

Ati 5830 (£60/$90 on ebay) 260-300MH/s depending how far you overclock.

Obviously with the recent interest in Bitcoin these cards will be in short supply right now.

5830's are going to be the best if you can find them, i bought 2 about a year ago and they do about 280Mhash each.. so best cheap card.. but they're so rare now.

AMD produces the chips and reference designs, and companies like Sapphire, XFX and others make the actual cards you can buy.

But if you're thinking of buying a GPU strictly for mining purposes you better work out the math first. It may take you a long time to get your money back. Also keep in mind that the difficulty is likely to increase quite a bit now that ASICs are getting deployed.

that one button auto moving to local after each search is a pain and has hid alot of hidden cheap things since it started.

most ( not all ) 512MB cards are the ' intro ' to Open CL ( mining rigs ) so that is a good place to start.  Just avoid any Nvidia 8600 ( any kind ) as there is an issue on the solder paste on them making them a ' bake every few months ' to get back to working. I have one and have spent a week trying to get it up and running again and ran in to the issue that Palit just plain ignores they are the ones that produced it in the first place.

What are the differences between XFX and sapphire cards?

From my limited experience, and from reading posts here, it seems like Sapphire are better quality and have a little higher hash rate - and they're more expensive.

I have XFX and Sapphire cards and the Sapphire gets about a 15% better hash rate. But, there are so many variables that go into hash rates (cgminer settings, etc.), so your results may vary. I'm still happy with my XFX though...it does the job.
